20231205 Addressing Karnataka Nāma-haṭṭa

The following is an address given to the karnataka Namahatta Devotees by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on December 5th,2023 in Śrī Dhāma Māyāpur, India.

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam 
paramānandaṁ mādhavaṁ śrī caitanya iśvaram

Hariḥ oṁ tat sat!

First of all, I would like to welcome everyone to Māyāpur dhāma. Vṛndāvana is known as mādhurya-dhāma, Jagannātha Purī dhāma as aiśvarya-dhāma. This Navadvīpa-dhāma is audārya-dhāma or land of mercy. Kṛṣṇa, He comes down in Dvāpara-yuga. He appears in Mathurā and immediately He was brought to Vṛndāvana. Then He went back to Mathurā. and then He put His capital at Dvārakā. So He is coming as the Supreme Personality of Godhead. In each avatāra, He has a particular mood. Like as Narasiṁhadeva, He is angry, as Varāhadeva, He lifts up the earth which has fallen from it’s orbit. As Kṛṣṇa He plays the part as Bhagavān but in a human like form. That is actually, His original form. So when He comes as Lord Caitanya, He is combined as Kṛṣṇa and Rādhā. That’s why He has a golden color, which is known as the Gaurāṅga. So Gaurāṅga is very special. His mood is how to give love of Kṛṣṇa to everyone.

To be Kṛṣṇa conscious is not so difficult. Thinking about Kṛṣṇa, Kaṁsa was Kṛṣṇa conscious in a negative sense. He was always thinking about Kṛṣṇa but “Kṛṣṇa will come and kill me”. Vraja-vāsīs were Kṛṣṇa conscious in a positive sense. In this Age of Kali people forget about Kṛṣṇa but Lord Caitanya came to teach that if you chant Kṛṣṇa’s holy names then He will be present.

So by always thinking about Kṛṣṇa our life becomes very sanctified. Just like we take antibiotics, this is spiritual antibiotics, to always think about Kṛṣṇa. Lord Caitanya, He came to bless us and He was in Karnataka too. Haribol! Haribol! He was born here but He traveled throughout South India for six years. He went to Mangalore, to Udupi to throughout the coast. So wherever He went we would like to put a lotus footprint of Lord Caitanya. Haribol! Haribol! So the people can remember that Lord Caitanya, He was here. Normally people don’t develop love for Kṛṣṇa but by following the Lord Caitanya naturally the love comes.

So I am supposed to go to perform initiations at the Nāma-haṭṭa. So if you would like to come, you can also come. Haribol! Haribol! I don’t know how long you will be there to see the Deities, to see the ārati. So they are telling me I should end here, so I go to the initiation ceremony. I am very glad you came, and I would like to wish you all my special blessings.
