Hari Oṁ Tat Sat

In Ritudvip, this is Vidyanagar. Here Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya appeared. His younger brother Vidya Vacaspati, he also appeared. And in the front, where you are chanting, in that place all the Vedas were also manifested. And the Vedas personified were given to different persons.

Sarvabhauma Bhattacharya is Brihaspati, the guru of the celestial beings. And he wanted to teach Lord Caitanya. So he wanted to be part of His pastimes. So he appeared here in Navadvip dham. But with the association of certain impersonalists, he deviated and he went to Jagannath Puri. Although he didn't remember, but Lord Caitanya did. So Lord Caitanya agreed to be his student.

There are many residents of different planets, they have come to this planet to participate in pastimes of Lord Caitanya. We don’t know, which of you have come from other planets? So here to be part of the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, they came from long distances to participate.

Lord Brahma came, Brihaspati, Vidya Vacaspati, he is also a rishi. First we worship Pancatattva Srivas. He is Narada Muni.

So how fortunate we are that we are with Srila Prabhupāda. And we got to help him and help him now, to expand Lord Caitanya’s Sankirtan movement. Lord Caitanya predicted that he will send someone after 500 years. And that person will spread the movement all over the world.

So, you know one thing is that remembering the pastimes, or playing a drama, or explaining the pastimes are non-different. So you got opportunity to remember the pastimes of Kṛṣṇa, to hear great devotees describe them, like Mahavisnu Gosvami Maharaja (Haribol from devotees) who is always keeping us chanting. I am physically challenged. So I can’t dance much anymore. But seeing you dance, that’s the next best thing.

So how wonderful are the pastimes of the Lord, to actually participate. I mean, see, these are very great devotees, very highly placed. If we can be part of Sankirtan or … shopkeepers, something, to see Lord Caitanya, to see Lord Nityananda!! That’s what it’s all about. To actually be part of the Lord’s pastimes. So Prabhupāda came as a part of His extended pastimes. And, so all of you have the opportunity to serve Lord Caitanya through Prabhupāda, under disciplic line.

You see, when Lord Caitanya came here, after 10 years, of taking sannyas. He stayed here.  And He was trying to hide also. He told, bring mother Saci. He was a very strict sannyasi, so He wouldn’t see His wife, but He would see His mother. So they bought mother Saci. The main town of Navadvipa is on the other side of the Ganges. 500 years ago. The word got out, Gauranga is here.

Gauranga! Gauranga! Gauranga! Gauranga! Gauranga! (All devotees cheering Gauranga)

Someone was milking their cow, and he heard, Gauranga is here. He left the cow and ran. Some ladies heard that Gauranga was here. They also ran, carrying their babies. They all came down to the riverfront. Boatman said, just come into the boat, slowly, carefully. Come into the boat carefully. Don’t overload it! Don’t overload! Don’t, Don’t. (action). They were up to their knees in water. The boat sank. And then, you see the Ganges is kind of yellow saffron color. But that day the Ganges became black, with all the devotees heads (laughter) They all came around this house.

Gauranga!! Gauranga!!

Gauranga!! Gauranga!!

Gauranga!! Gauranga!!

Gauranga!! Gauranga!!

Gauranga!! Gauranga!!

Gauranga!! Gauranga!!

Gauranga!! Gauranga!!

Gauranga!! Gauranga!!

Gauranga!! Gauranga!!

Gauranga!! Gauranga!!

Gauranga!! Gauranga!!

Gauranga!! Gauranga!!

Gauranga!! Gauranga!!

Gauranga!! Gauranga!!

Gauranga!! Gauranga!!

Gauranga!! Gauranga!!

Gauranga!! Gauranga!!

Gauranga!! Gauranga!!

Gauranga!! Gauranga!!

Gauranga!! Gauranga!!

Gauranga!! Gauranga!!

(All devotees cheering Gauranga)

So Vidya Vacaspati, he told Lord Caitanya, “If You don’t go out, they will crush the house. If You don’t go out, they will crush the house.” So Lord Caitanya had been talking to His mother, and telling her, that unseen to her, He was coming and eating her offerings. So Lord Gauranga, He went outside.

Haribol ! (Haribol)

Hare Kṛṣṇa

Hare Kṛṣṇa

Kṛṣṇa  Kṛṣṇa

Hare Hare

Hare Rama

Hare Rama

Rama Rama

Hare Hare

He spoke a few words. He blessed all the people. Everyone ate up His beauty. To see Him. Then He went back into the house. And He disappeared. He appeared two kilometers away, and He started walking. So, Vidya Vacaspati brought five people to show them that Lord Caitanya was not there, in the house.

Some people, took Lord Caitanya for granted in Navadvipa. When He left they were feeling such separation. They were crazy, crazy to see Him.

After this He went to deliver Rupa and Sanatana, Ramkeli. And then with thousands of people He was chanting and dancing, and He went to Kannai Natyashala. So, this place of Kannai Natyashala is with ISKCON now. (Haribol)

Rupa and Sanatana, they told Him that, this is not the way to go to Vrindavan. With so many people, big kirtan, like this. So then Lord Caitanya went back and He stopped at Shantipur. which we also go to distribute food on the anniversary of his visit to Shantipur, prasadam.

Lord Caitanya is sat-cit-ananda. He looks like human being. Because humans are made in His image. But He is transcendental. He has nothing to fear, but He likes to come, to give mercy to His devotees. So everybody He met, He would tell them to chant Hare Kṛṣṇa, to worship Kṛṣṇa, and to read the teachings of Lord Kṛṣṇa. He also tell them, whoever they would meet, they should tell the glories of Kṛṣṇa.

yāre dekha, tāre kaha 'kṛṣṇa'-upadeśa

āmāra ājñāya guru hañā tāra' ei deśa

(Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Madhya-līlā 7.128)

So Lord Caitanya, He empowers all the devotees to tell others about Kṛṣṇa. So we are trying to assist Srila Prabhupāda in his assistance. Srila Prabhupāda said also, that some of his devotees were from other planets. Some have come also, from Satyaloka. So which of you? (Guru Maharaj stares into the crowd) So this is a universal movement.

That’s what I wanted to say. Try to take the mercy of Lord Caitanya, and keep it is as your most valuable treasure.

Haribol! (All devotees cheer Haribol)

So there is a Namahatta here in Vidyanagar. There is a Namahatta, Vidyanagar, which is all initiated devotees. So they want to give prasad to the Prabhupāda disciples, sannyasis, senior devotees, just as you enter the fields. So please, Prabhupāda disciples, can come for traditional Bengali meals.

Someone says that one of those trees, those trees in the courtyard, where we went; these trees came from a pen that Lord Caitanya planted in the ground. It is said that these trees are not anywhere else.

So don’t strip all the leaves off. Somebody just check.

So don’t strip all the leaves. Someone could check, it would be nice.
