Jayapatākā Swami: This ceremony of the adhivāsa, this is all meant for the glory and worship of Śrī Śrī Rādhā Mādhava and Māyāpuracandra. When Kṛṣṇa discussed at Dvārakā, He discussed with Vipra Sudāmā, He spent all the time discussing dīkṣā-guru and śikṣā-guru because they were godbrothers, they had studied under the same teacher. And Kṛṣṇa was remembering how He had got lost in the night, and that He and Vipra Sudāmā were together, but how the guru with the other disciples came out to find Kṛṣṇa. And they had a very good experience with Sāndīpani Muni. So, this principle of the guru-disciple relationship goes back since time immemorial.

And Kṛṣṇa was discussing how wonderful this guru-disciple relationship is. Lord Kṛṣṇa, He is the guru of all gurus, but He accepted a guru just to show by example. Similarly, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu had accepted guru. For His Sanskrit studies, He had three gurus — Sudarśana Paṇḍita, Viṣṇu Paṇḍita, and Gaṅgādāsa Paṇḍita. Also, He took initiation from Īśvara Purī Mahārāja. Thus, He became a grand-disciple of Mādhavendra Purī and also, Advaita Gosāñi accepted Mādhavendra Purī as His dīkṣā-guru and we go to Śāntipura to observe the disappearance day of Mādhavendra Purī. That is called Govinda Dvādaśī. So, throughout the history, the principle of the guru-disciple relationship is there.

Although guru is a devotee of the Lord, he is not a viṣṇu-tattva usually, but he takes the role to guide the disciples back to Kṛṣṇa and this role was taken by Śrīla Prabhupāda. And he brought the message of Lord Caitanya and Kṛṣṇa, the Bhagavad-gītā As It Is, Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, and many small books and some big books. So, we will speak more about Śrīla Prabhupāda tomorrow. We are very grateful that the devotees from the Lakṣmī-Narasiṁha Temple and the devotees from the Gāndharvikā Giridhārī Gaurāṅga Temple, they have translated and sung the song about Śrīla Prabhupāda in Kannada language.

Also, I heard that my office has set up a booth in the Pañca-tattva Extension courtyard that if you are not receiving the texts, then it may be that we do not have your proper contact. Last year they got hundreds of wrong addresses corrected. So, please go there and check whether your entry is proper. If anyone is desirous of getting married, then you can register there also. So, today I will not speak too long. We had the adhivāsa. The adhivāsa means that we prepare for a very big function tomorrow. So, I am very grateful to the Vyāsa-pūjā committee for their help counters (help desks), for their medical help, and all types of help. So, thank you very much. I thank all of you for your presence. So, we will have a song. Hare Kṛṣṇa!
