mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-gurun dina tāriṇam
paramānanda-mādhavam śrī caitanya īśvaram
Harihi oṁ tat sat

Jayapatākā Swami: Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu after taking sannyāsa, He went to Malda. There He performed various līlās. Śrīla Rūpa and Sanātana Gosvāmī were there, and their brother Anupama was also there. The Nawab Hussain Shah wanted to know who Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu was. He had some Hindu minister in his cabinet, who became afraid, and he told the Nawab that, He was a fakir, a beggar. The Nawab said, “I do not believe it.” They said, “You are the king, what do you think?” The Nawab said that, “I think He has some link with Allah. Why do people work for me? My ministers, my army, they all work, and I give them salaries. If I did not give money, they will not work. I think that even by queens if I do not give them gifts and money, they will not serve me. But Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu has so many people following Him! But He does not give them any money! Now, other than Allah, for whom will people work without any remuneration? I think that He has some connect with Allah.” Now the Hindu ministry could not say anything.

Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, He went from Malda to Rāmakeli. There He performed many līlās. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu’s desire was that everyone should get love of Godhead. But getting this love of Godhead is a very rare thing. In the Brahma-Vaivarta Purāṇa, it is said that, Lord Kṛṣṇa predicted that in the Kali-yuga there will be a ten-thousand-year period which will be a Golden Age. And in this period, all the earth will be Kṛṣṇa conscious! Now, this will happen five thousand years of the advent of the Kali-yuga. His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda went to the West and we feel that he started that Golden Age. 4,500 years after the beginning of Kali-yuga, Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu appeared. And now it is 5000 years. So Śrīla Prabhupāda went all over the world to distribute the mercy of Lord Gaurāṅga Mahāprabhu. You are all in the northern end of the Gaura-maṇḍala Bhūmi of Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu.

śrī gauḍa-maṇḍala-bhūmi,     yebā jāne cintāmaṇi,
tā'ra haya vrajabhūme vāsa

So all of you are vraja-vāsīs! When the ladies do the ulu-dhvani, the men should do the hari-dhvani!

I am very grateful that I could come here. We desire that all of you propagate the teachings of Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu. Gaurāṅga Mahāprabhu, He distributed special mercy. Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī was playing the flute in Navadvīpa-dhāma. Kṛṣṇa came to see who is playing the flute so beautifully! Then, He saw that Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī was playing the flute. He was very grateful to Her that She had created the Navadvīpa-dhāma, the nine islands, for Him. He said that this Navadvīpa-dhāma will be non-different from Vṛndāvana. And here, all the holy places will be here like in Vṛndāvana. Here, especially Lord Nityānanda again and again did parikramā. Nine days parikramā, one day parikramā, three days parikramā. Nitāi Prabhu did Navadvīpa parikramā many times. You have all come to Navadvīpa-dhāma to get the mercy! Nitāi Gaura, distribute this mercy! Here Lord Kṛṣṇa wanted to understand and feel how His devotees felt happy in serving Him, so that is why He combined with Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī and appeared as Gaurāṅga Mahāprabhu! Here in Navadvīpa-dhāma, He stayed for 24 years. After that He went to Katwa, took sannyāsa and then went to Nīlācala. After that for 5-6 years He toured all over India. He went to Vṛndāvana, to Benaras, Kāśī where He made the Māyāvādī sannyāsīs into Vaiṣṇavas! He then went back to Nīlācala. When He was a gṛhastha, He went to Gayā and there He took initiation. He went to do piṇḍa-dāna for his father, Jagannātha Miśra, in Gayā and there He met with Īśvara Purī and took initiation from him there. After that He went back to Navadvīpa and then went to Kānāi-Nāṭaśālā. Then He specially started preaching the name of Kṛṣṇa. Do any of you chant the names of Kṛṣṇa?

Chanting the names of Kṛṣṇa is the dharma of Kali-yuga. Everyone should chant the names of Kṛṣṇa every day. And one must read the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Bhagavad-gītā. Our His Holiness Bhakti Vijaya Bhāgavata Swami is here, and he will speak about the importance of book distribution. Distribution of books in Malda and South Dinajpur has a special significance. Some days ago, during the Bhādra-Pūrṇimā, Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam books were donated. Now the marathon for distributing Bhagavad-gītā has begun. Parīkṣit Mahārāja heard the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam for seven days and nights. Śrīla Prabhupāda has instituted various degrees – Bhagavad-gītā, Īśopaniṣad, Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu – study these scriptures and get the Bhakti-śāstrī degree. And study of the first six cantos of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam you can get the Bhakti-vaibhava degree. The last six cantos of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, you can get the Bhakti-vedānta degree. I have the Bhakti-vedānta degree! Bhakti-sārvabhauma is the study of Caitanya-caritāmṛta. I am now studying for that. I have studied it many, many times, but now giving the exam. I want that all of you should read Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books. Those who cannot read well, now we have an App called ‘Transcend’ on the internet. All the books of Śrīla Prabhupāda are there which can be read and heard as well. Reading and studying these books are very special. I was very fortunate that I got a lot of association with Śrīla Prabhupāda. All of you can get his association, by reading Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books!
