20241015 Initiation Address

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
paramānanda-mādhavam śrī caitanya īśvaram
Harihi oṁ tat sat

Jayapatākā Swami: We are bit delayed today. Because I had to choose the names for the disciples taking initiation today. That is why it took some time. They said it would take five minutes to choose the names for 23 people. But I took about 45 minutes to an hour. The devotees who selected the names and put up to me were new to it and so it took me a long time to decide the names.  They gave the name Kṛṣṇa Jīvana Amukha. Kṛṣṇa Jīvana, what is that? Is anyone here is Kṛṣṇa Jīvana? There is Arjuna, Arjuna Jīvana is Kṛṣṇa, Rādhārāṇī’s jīvana is Kṛṣṇa. Who can be Kṛṣṇa Jīvana?

Any way, you are all taking initiation. Hope you have read the ten offences to the holy name and have taken your vows. Have any of you not taken your vows? Anyway, many people ask me to give them personal instructions. You vow to chant minimum 16 rounds, follow the four regulative principles is the guru’s instrucion. This is everyone’s responsibility. After many years, devotees chant less rounds. Someone said they had come to the stage of rāgānuga-bhakti and so they can smoke! But this has not been instructed by me. Where have they heard it from? Where, is it mentioned that in rāgānuga stage one can smoke? Is there a rule anywhere?

Now those who do Harināma and follow the four regulative principles, they can achieve kṛṣṇa-prema easily. Haribol! Lord Caitanya desires that all the people be delivered. But generally, this would take many lifetimes. But if you all try and do Harināma then it is possible to happen in one lifetime. If you do not follow the teachings of Lord Caitanya and after some days say you are on the rāgānuga stage, etc. and do not have to follow the principles, those are sahajiyās. Those devotees are actually breaking the rules.  All of you should be very careful and Māyā will test you to see how determined you are. I am taking your responsibility so I will have a lot of suffering if you do not follow the principles. If you all follow, then that will be good for me. If someone does not follow the principles, then only by going to the doctor and taking medicines will my disease get cured? That disease the disciple gives to me and I have to accept it. I want that all of you follow the principles, do Harināma and preach. If you do this properly you will feel bless. Ānande bolo Harināma! Hare Kṛṣṇa!

What more should I say? We are Kṛṣṇa dāsa. Your names are all Kṛṣṇa, Balarāma, Rādhārāṇī, Vṛndāvana Rāṇī. These are all spiritual names. Kṛṣṇa wants that you all get delivered from this conditioned life. And Kṛṣṇa has manifested as Gaura in Māyāpur. His intention is to deliver all the conditioned souls. In the Brahma-vaivarta Purāṇa it is predicted that there will be a ten-thousand-year Golden Age when people will be able to attain Kṛṣṇa Caitanya. Lord Gaurāṅga said,

pṛthivīte āche yata nagarādi grāma
sarvatra pracāra haibe mora nāma
(CB Antya-khaṇḍa 4.126)

 You should all should preach. Now in Bhārata-varṣa many people are not serving Kṛṣṇa. You all should all take advantage of Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Mahāprabhu’s teachings and preach. Now in India many people do not do service to Kṛṣṇa. You all should try to see that all follow the teachings of Lord Caitanya. Any way it is 8.36 pm.
