20260214 Māyāpur Book Distribution Awards Address

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-gurun dina tāriṇam
paramānanda-mādhavam śrī caitanya īśvaram

Jayapatākā Swami: I am cutting it short because I don’t want the program to be late. It is already late! We know how much Śrīla Prabhupāda wanted his devotees to distribute books. Like that we want to see that everybody distributes books. So, I have to admit that Delhi was defeating us earlier. So I asked them what was their secret! And they told me that the secret was a month or two before the Marathon, every Nāma-haṭṭa, every devotee make a commitment how many books they would distribute. Then I told that to His Holiness Bhakti Vijaya Bhāgavata Swami. And I also told that to all the devotees. And we wanted all the men, ladies, everybody to distribute some books. So, during the year with our book parties, bus parties, we would win all year but would lose in the Marathon! So, when I told all the devotees to distribute books, then we started to see a change! This year by Lord Caitanya’s mercy, by Śrīla Prabhupāda’s mercy, Māyāpur is first!! But, we don’t know what will happen in the following years. (Śrīla Prabhupāda told us to double it!) Also, His Grace Vaiśeṣika Prabhu has achieved the Bhakti-vedānta degree! We not only want to distribute books but read them, study them, know them and get the degrees! Caitanya-candra caraṇa Prabhu also got his Bhakti-vedānta degree, that is a different issue.

So all the devotees should be very dedicated. We want to distribute the books because we know the philosophy, we believe in it and we want to spread it! So, some of those who visit Māyāpur, we get their names, their addresses, their contact details. So we want to get the contacts of people who buy sets of books. We want to see Lord Caitanya’s saṅkīrtana movement spread all over the world! Hare Kṛṣṇa!
