Translation: As I, not allowed to enter, had to stay outside the door, so will You also have to stay outside the world of household life."
Jayapatākā Swami: “He didn’t allow me to go and I was kept outside the doorway. In the same way, I curse You that You will also be out of the household life and be in the world.” So, we know that later Lord Caitanya took sannyāsa, maybe the brāhmaṇa was cursing him.
Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta Ādi-līlā 17.62

Translation: Breaking the sacred thread draped over his chest, the brāhmaṇa wrathfully delivered this curse: "Because I was forbidden entry by the door-keeper when I came at the time You were dancing; therefore, You must now leave all the happiness of Your family life." When the Supreme Lord heard these words uttered by the brāhmaṇa, He felt very happy and thought:

Translation: Hearing these words, Lord Gaura became happy at heart. He said: This curse is a great boon for Me."
Jayapatākā Swami: Hearing these words of the brāhmaṇa, the Lord was very happy inside. “The brāhmaṇa's curse is actually a blessing in disguise. A great blessing for Me.”
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 8.57

Translation: In this way the Supreme Personality of Godhead accepted the curse. Hearing this, the brāhmaṇa became afraid at heart.
Jayapatākā Swami: When the Lord accepted this curse, and when this was understood by the brāhmaṇa, he was fearful, great fear in his mind and heart.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 8.58

Translation: He said: What did I just do? O Lord, You made me speak those words. You are all-pervading. You are the Supersoul present in every heart.
Jayapatākā Swami: “What did I just do?! Oh Lord, You made me speak these things! You are the Supreme Personality of Godhead in full and You are everyone’s Supersoul.”
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 8.59
kutarkera gaṇa saba nistāra karibe
sannyāsa kariyā ta’ sabhāre prema dibe
Translation: You will deliver the false philosophers. Accepting sannyāsa, You will give them all the gift of ecstatic spiritual love.
Jayapatākā Swami: Those who are the false argumenters, will all be delivered by You. Your taking sannyāsa, You will give them all pure, spiritual love. So, Lord Kṛṣṇa, Lord Caitanya, followed the curse of the brāhmaṇa. He respected brāhmaṇas very much. So, this curse that He would be outside the family life, that means He would take sannyāsa. And so, as a sannyāsī, He travelled all over India, and He gave out pure love of Kṛṣṇa to everyone, to the Māyāvādī sannyāsīs in Benares, to the Buddhists in South India, to everyone. And so, this brāhmaṇa, we see why so many different scriptures have cited his case, because this case or this situation of the brāhmaṇa cursed Lord Caitanya, in effect, Lord Caitanya was carrying out the curse of the brāhmaṇa. But for Him it was a blessing in disguise. So, He was reciprocating. You see, in the navadvīpa-parikramā, there is a place in Modadruma-dvīpa, the Lord Rāma, He smiles and Sītā asks Him why are You smiling? He said, in Kali-yuga, I will appear here. In this pastime, You will be sent to the forest and I will worship a golden form of You. In Kali-yuga, I will go to the forest, and You will worship a golden form of Me. So Kṛṣṇa always reciprocates with His devotees. So, He banished Sītā to the forest. Because He was being a perfect king and someone of His citizens, His subjects, criticized why did He accept Her back? She was in the house of the demon Rāvaṇa, so She was impure. Although She had gone through the test of fire and all that. So, someone was critical. So therefore, Rāma sent Her into the forest. So, then He reciprocated, He went to the forest in His pastime as Gaurāṅga, by taking sannyāsa and Sītā devī was Viṣṇupriyā, and She worshipped the golden form of Lord Caitanya. In Navadvīpa, the form of Dhāmeśwara Caitanya is said to be the deity that Viṣṇupriyā worshipped. So, this brāhmaṇa after saying these things, he realized that it is very dangerous to curse Lord Gaurāṅga!
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 8.60
sannyāsī balilā ‘guru’ tomāre balibe
sei namrabhāve prema tā’ sabhāre dibe
Translation: People with call You `sannyāsī' and `guru'. They will humbly bow before You. Then You will give them the gift of ecstatic spiritual love.
Jayapatākā Swami: “Some people will call You as a sannyāsī or guru and they will offer, with great humility, their obeisances, and You will give them kṛṣṇa-prema, ecstatic spiritual love.”
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 8.61
parama caturaśiromaṇi gaurahari

Translation: O Lord Gaura-Hari, O crest-jewel of the philosophers, You will break open the treasure-house of ecstatic spiritual love and You will freely distribute its contents.
Jayapatākā Swami: “O My dear Gaurahari, You are the best, the crest jewel of the philosophers! You will distribute the love of Kṛṣṇa, breaking the treasure house open, and distributing this treasure house of kṛṣṇa-premā open, of pure love for Kṛṣṇa open, and distribute the contents.

Translation: You have vowed to plunge the whole universe in ecstatic spiritual love. What pious or sinful person will You not deliver?
Jayapatākā Swami: Your promise is to, flood the world, flood the universe and deliver both the rascals and the saintly people. What sinful or saintly person You will not deliver?
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 8.63
āmi se vaṣcita hailu tora prema-bāṇe
ki haibe mora gati patitapāvane
Translation: Only I will be cheated of that love. Only I will remain unwounded by that arrow of ecstatic spiritual love. O purifier of the fallen, what will become of me?"
Jayapatākā Swami: But I will be bereft, deprived of that arrow of pure love of Kṛṣṇa. What will be my destination? O great deliverer of the fallen!
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 8.64
śuni’ prabhu bole—śāpa nahe mora vara
mora vāṣchā pūrṇa kaile-nāhi tora ḍara
Translation: Hearing these words, Lord Gaura said: Your words were not a curse. They were a blessing for Me. You have fulfilled My desire. You need not fear."
Jayapatākā Swami: When the Lord heard these words, He said, Lord Gaurāṅga said, your words are not a curse to Me, they are a blessing for Me. You have fulfilled My desire. You don’t have anything to fear.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 8.65

Jayapatākā Swami: Hearing these words, the brāhmaṇa fell at the lotus feet of Lord Caitanya, Lord Gaurāṅga. And the Lord picked him up and Mahāprabhu gave him an embrace! Haribol!
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 8.66
prabhū-āliṅgane vipra premāya ākula
garagara kṛṣṇapreme hailā tarala
Translation: Embraced by the Lord, the brāhmaṇa was overcome with ecstatic spiritual love. He melted with ecstatic love for Lord Kṛṣṇa.
Jayapatākā Swami: Getting the embrace of Lord Gaurāṅga, the brāhmaṇa, he experienced ecstatic love of Kṛṣṇa unlimitedly! He became overwhelmed and he was overwhelmed with pure love of Kṛṣṇa and he melted, by the mercy of the Lord.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 8.67
viprera mānasapūrṇa ka’la bhagavān
brahmāra durlabha prema tāre dila dāna
Translation: Lord Gaura fulfilled the desire in that brāhmaṇa's heart. Lord Gaura gave him a gift of ecstatic spiritual love even the demigod Brahmā finds difficult to attain.
Jayapatākā Swami: So, Lord Gaura, fulfilled the desire of the brāhmaṇa. The brāhmaṇa received the rare gift of pure, ecstatic love of Kṛṣṇa, which is very difficult to achieve.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 8.68
hena citra līlā kare gaurāṅgasundara
bujhite nā pāre duṣṭa-antara pāmara
Translation: Thus, the Lord performs His wonderful pastimes. The wicked-hearted have no power to understand.
Jayapatākā Swami: The Lord performed such wonderful pastimes, Lord Gaurasundara, performed such wonderful, colorful pastimes. But the people who are sinful and wicked hearted, they are not able to understand and they have no power to understand.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 8.69
ihā bali’ mahāprabhu antara ullāse

Translation: When He spoke these words, Lord Mahaprabhu became very joyful at heart. Locana dāsa thus happily sings the glories of Lord Gaura.
Jayapatākā Swami: So, He spoke these words, Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu became very joyful at heart. Locana dāsa thus happily sings the glories of Lord Gauuuurāṅga!

Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta Ādi-līlā 17.64

Translation: Any faithful person who hears of this brāhmaṇa’s cursing Lord Caitanya is delivered from all brahminical curses.
PURPORT: One should know with firm conviction that the Lord, being transcendental, is never subject to any curse or benediction. Only ordinary living entities are subjected to curses and the punishments of Yamarāja. As the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu is beyond such punishments and benedictions. When one understands this fact with faith and love, he personally becomes free from all curses uttered by brāhmaṇas or anyone else. This incident is not mentioned in the Caitanya-bhāgavata.
Jayapatākā Swami: So, one should understand how Lord Gaurāṅga is transcendental. He is never subject to any curse or benediction of a brāhmaṇa. Only ordinary living entities are subject to being cursed by brāhmaṇas, and punishment of Yamarāja. As the Supreme Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu, is beyond such punishments and benedictions. He went into the forest to deliver the fallen souls, who are put into illusion by material energy.”

A Brāhmaṇa Curses Lord Viśvambhara, But in Return Receives Love
* * *
Gauuuurāṅga!
Jayapatākā Swami: So, since the devotees are also not part of the material world, they can be freed from all these, we don’t want any material curse or benediction. So, tomorrow is the all-India curfew. So only devotees who are translating will be allowed up and the rest can watch the show on your internet. Those who are translating, they can come up. So, when you go down, go one after another, don’t rub each other. We want to train you up. But actually I was telling, in the Kalisantaraṇa Upaniṣad tells us that all the kalmaṣa of the Kali-yuga will be destroyed by chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa Hare Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Hare Hare, Hare Rāma Hare Rāma Rāma Rāma Hare Hare! So, we want to encourage the people to chant the holy name at this time and within a short time maybe the corona virus epidemic or pandemic will be transcended. And if people don’t want to chant the name Hare Kṛṣṇa, of course we would like to encourage them, that there is only one God and this is mentioned in Sanskrit, which is the mother language. But if any way if they want to chant – there are 99 names of Allah, there are names in the Old Testament, in the New Testament, they can chant any name they want. They can chant the name of Buddha, but the best thing is if we chant Hare Kṛṣṇa. So, we want to get everyone to chant. Srīla Prabhupāda said that in the turn of the century there was a great plague in Kolkata but someone, a Vaiṣṇava bābājī, he went door to door and requested everyone to chant, as a result, Srīla Prabhupāda said, it was a fact that the plague left Kolkata! So, we want people to chant, please translate, give some short snippet videos in your languages and encourage the people to chant. Hare Kṛṣṇa! Thank You Very Much!
Bhagavad-gītā sponsorships were announced.
There is a table at the back, you can give your order!
Announcement: You can sponsor Bhagavad-gītās – 71 Bhagavad-gītās, 108 Bhagavad-gītās, 123 Bhagavad-gītās which marks Śrīla Prabhupāda’s Vyāsa-pūjā, and 534 Bhagavad-gītās, which marks Gaurābda!
Any questions? We have a few minutes.
Question: How the brāhmaṇa cursed Lord Caitanya and he got love of Kṛṣṇa?
Jayapatākā Swami: That cursing was accepted as a blessing by Lord Caitanya. What is the question?
Question: Dear Guru Mahārāja, Please accept my respectful obeisances. All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda! Śrīla Prabhupāda says in his purports of the Bhagavad-gītā that the pastimes of Lord Kṛṣṇa are eternal and are going on from one universe to another, nonstop. Similarly, I presume that the pastimes of Lord Caitanya are also eternal and are going on from one universe to another, nonstop. Is that correct? What about Śrīla Prabhupāda’s pastimes? Are they also going on nonstop in different universes?—Your insignificant servant, Prema Gaurasundara dāsa.
Jayapatākā Swami: As far as Lord Caitanya’s pastimes are going on – why not? He is also not non-different from Kṛṣṇa. So, as far as Śrīla Prabhupāda’s pastimes from universe to universe, because I told Śrīla Prabhupāda that I want to serve you life after life. Then he said, why do you want to make me to come back? Then I thought what did I say wrong! I thought I should have said, I want to serve you even life after life. So, Śrīla Prabhupāda, he may go back to the spiritual world.
Any other question?
So, this class was very special.
Question: Please accept my respectful obeisances. Can I worship Lord Bālājī?—Your insignificant servant, Praṇata Subal dāsa.
Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya visited Tirumala and His lotus feet are there. So, in the pastime of Tirumala, of Bālājī, Veṅketaśvara, the devotee, Vedavatī, who took the curse when Sītā was taken by the fire god, in Her place, Vedavatī was taken by Rāvaṇa. But She wanted to marry Rāma. But Rāma said pardon me, I have taken a vow, I can have only wife in this pastime and She is Sītā. But he said, in Kali-yuga, I will accept Vedavatī as My wife. So, in the pastime of Bālājī, Vedavatī came as Padmāvatī and He married Her. So Lakṣmī came and She was angry, why You have married someone else? He said, this is Vedavatī. She said, oh it is alright! She took so much torturing from the demons on behalf of Her! But generally, you can worship Bālājī. But generally, you see Bālājī in His original form had two hands. But then apparently Rāmānujācārya asked Him to manifest four hands. So, He did that. So, I don’t know which form you want to worship Bālājī in? We generally like to worship Kṛṣṇa. Some people have great love for Lord Rāma, or someone likes some other pastimes or avatāras. You can worship Bālājī, but generally we worship Him as an expansion of Lord Kṛṣṇa. Hare Kṛṣṇa!
Hare Kṛṣṇa for Sumantra Gopī dd from Kolkata and Śrīdhara dāsa from Singapore for Bhagavad-gītā sponsorships.
Tomorrow, just the translators only! Those who want to come during the day and take videos in different languages, you can arrange with Jānakī Rāmacandra.
