Hariḥ oṁ tat sat!

Hare Kṛṣṇa! Dear Devotees! Today we will continue with the compilation of Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Book, today's chapter is entitled as:

Like Father Like Son – Advaita Ācārya and Acyutānanda
Under the Section: The Lord’s Attempt to Go to Vṛndāvana

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.177

śuniyā sannyāsī śrī-acyuta-vacana
daṇḍavat haiyā paḍilā sei-kṣaṇa

Jayapatākā Swami: After the sannyāsī heard Acyutānanda’s statements, he immediately offered obeisances at that place to him.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.178

sannyāsīra mukhe pitā o putrera praśaṁsā evaṁ āpanāke kṛtārtha-jñāna—
sannyāsī balena,—“yogya advaita-nandana
yena pitā, tena putra—acintya-kathana

Jayapatākā Swami: The sannyāsī said, “This is a qualified son of Advaita Ācārya. Like father, like son. It is an inconceivable discussion.

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Srila Prabhupada): The sannyāsī said, “In the same way Śrī Advaita Prabhu is great, His son is also greatly learned. By the advice of His son, the father rectified His own statement. This type of father and son are very rare in this world. This child was able to speak such elevated topics because he is empowered by the Supreme Lord.”

Jayapatākā Swami: So, in essence Acyutānanda he was at the young age of five, yet he knew the whole tattva of Brahmādeva and all the actual position of the Supreme Lord and that Lord Caitanya the Supreme Lord who has actually descended to this earth. So, his realization was way beyond his age, so the sannyāsī realized that he was empowered by the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.179

ei ta’ īśvara-śakti vahi anya naya
bālakera mukhe ki e-mata kathā haya?

Jayapatākā Swami: “He must be empowered by the Supreme Persnality of Godhead, otherwise how could a child speak such things?

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.180

śubha lagne āilāṅa advaita dekhite
adbhuta mahimā dekhilāṅa nayanete”

Jayapatākā Swami: “I must have come at an auspicious moment to see Advaita Ācārya. That’s why I saw the wonderful great incident with my own eyes.”

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.181

putrera sahita advaitere namaskari’
pūrṇa hai’ nyāsī cale bale,—’hari hari’

Jayapatākā Swami: After offering obeisances to both Advaita prabhu and His son, being fully satisfied the sannyāsī departed while chanting the holy name of Hari! Hari!

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.182

ihāre se bali yogya advaita-nandana
ye caitanya-pāda-padme ekānta-śaraṇa

Jayapatākā Swami: As result of this incident, Acyuta is said to be the qualified son of Advaita Prabhu. He is completely surrendered to thelotus feet of Lord Caitanya.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.183

gauracandravimukha advaitānugavruvagaṇera nidhana anivārya—
advaitere bhaje, gauracandre kare helā
putra hau advaitera tabu tiṅha gelā

Jayapatākā Swami: If one worships Advaita but neglects Lord Gauracandra, he is doomed, even if he is the son of Advaita Acarya.

Purport (by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Srila Prabhupada): Because of the misfortune of this world a few of Advaita Prabhu’s unqualified sons displayed respect for their father, yet they had no activity other than displaying disrespect for Śrī Gaurasundara. Only foolish ignorant people respect those unqualified sons as sons of Advaita. Those unqualified sons of Advaita who were averse to the service of Hari brought about their own destruction by openly identifying themselves as sons of Advaita.
