henai samaye gauracandra bhagavān
advaitera gṛhe āsi' hailā adhiṣṭhāna
Jayapatākā Swami: At that time Lord Gauracandra, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, He arrived at the house of Advaita Ācārya and remained there.

Translation: Staying there one day, he begged to the north of the village, and then went to Śāntipura with thousands of people by boat.
Caitanya Carita Mahā Kāvya 20.19

yāvan naiṣo’darśi tāvat suduḥkhair
gāḍhaṁ gāḍham ardyamānair abhāṣi
Translation: Śrīvāsa, not seeing him, looked everywhere with a disturbed mind. He felt deep grief as long as he did not see him.
Caitanya Carita Mahā Kāvya 20.20
nāvā gacchan svardhunī-madhya-bhūmau
nāmnāṁ gāthāṁ lola-cittaḥ prakāśya
advaitasya grāmam āsādya nāthaḥ
premnottasthau gantum atyantam utkaḥ
Translation: Going by boat on the Gaṅgā, with fickle heart, the Lord chanted the name. Coming to Advaita’s village, the Lord, most anxious to meet Advaita, felt great prema.
Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya was staying at the house of Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura, then he happened to visit the house of Śivananda Sena then went to Vāsudeva Datta’s house, then He headed North, part way by walk and part way by boat, until He reached the village of Śāntipura and reached the house of Advaita Ācārya.

Translation: Advaita met him at the door and embraced him with bliss. The fortunate living entities could not be satisfied with seeing and hearing about this.
Jayapatākā Swami: So, the relationship between Lord Caitanya and Advaita Ācārya was very intimate so, when they met it was natural that they embraced.
Caitanya Carita Mahā Kāvya 20.22
bhūyo bhūyo gāḍham āśleṣa-pīḍau

Translation: Again and again they embraced, overwhelmed by prema. Then Advaita worshipped him with worthy items and gracious words.
Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.137
ye nimitta advaita āviṣṭa putra-saṅge
se baḍa adbhuta kathā, kahi śuna raṅge
Jayapatākā Swami: The reason Advaita Ācārya became overwhelmed in His son's association is most wonderful. Listen happily to that narration.
Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.138
ekadā śāntipurera advaita-bhavane janaika-sannyāsīra āgamana o keśava-bhāratīra sahita mahāprabhura sambandha-jijñāsā—

‘śrī-acyutānanda’ nāma—jagata-vidita
Jayapatākā Swami: Advaita Ācārya had a qualified son which was proper, he was known throughout the world as “Śrī Acyutānanda”.
Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.139
daive eka-dina eka uttama sannyāsī
advaita-ācārya-sthāne mililena āsi’
Jayapatākā Swami: By the arrangement of providence, one day an exalted sannyāsī came to the house of Advaita Ācārya and met with Him.
Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.140
advaita dekhiyā nyāsī saṅkoce rahila
advaita nyāsīre namaskari' vasāila
Jayapatākā Swami: On seeing Advaita Ācārya, the sannyāsī hesitantly stood there. Advaita Ācārya offered respects to the sannyāsī and had him sit down.
Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.141
advaita balena,—“bhikṣā karaha gosāñi!”
sannyāsī balena,—“bhikṣā deha' yāhā cāi
Jayapatākā Swami: Advaita Ācārya said, “O Gosāi, kindly take your meal here.” The sannyāsī replied, “Give me the alms that I want.”
Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.142
kichu mora jijñāsā āchaye tomā’-sthāne
mora sei bhikṣātāhā kahibā āpane”
Jayapatākā Swami: “I have a simple question I wish to ask You. That is my request, you will answer personally yourself.”
Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.143
ācārya balena,—“āge karaha bhojana
śeṣe jijñāsāra tabe haibe kathana”
Jayapatākā Swami: Advaita Ācārya said, “First take your meal, then you may inquire from Me and then you will hear My answer.”
Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.144
nyāsī bale,—“āge āche jijñāsya āmāra”
ācārya balena,—“bala ye icchā tomāra”
Jayapatākā Swami: The sannyāsī then said, “I will ask my question first.” Advaita Ācārya replied, “Speak as you wish.”
Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.145
sannyāsī balena,—“ei keśava bhāratī
caitanyera ke hayena, kaha mora prati”
Jayapatākā Swami: The sannyāsī said, “How is Keśava Bhāratī related to Caitanya? Please tell me?”
Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.146
mane mane cintena advaita mahāśaya
“vyavahāra, paramārtha—dui pakṣa haya
Jayapatākā Swami: Advaita Mahāśaya thought, “There are two relationships—worldly and spiritual.”
Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.147
yadyapiha īśvarera pitā-mātā nāi
tathāpiha ‘devakīnandana’ kari’ gāi
Jayapatākā Swami: “Although the Supreme Lord has no father or mother, He is glorified as the son of Devakī.”
Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.148
paramārthe—guru se tāṅhāra keha nāi
tathāpi ye kare prabhu, tāhā sabe gāi
Jayapatākā Swami: “From the spiritual point of view He has no spiritual master. Yet whatever He does is glorified by everyone.”
Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.149
prathamei paramārtha ki kārya kahiyā?
vyavahāra kahiyāi yāi prabodhiyā”
Jayapatākā Swami: “So why should I first speak about the spiritual aspect? Let Me first satisfy him by explaining their worldly relationship.”
Purport by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura: Advaita Prabhu understood from the question of the sannyāsī that he wanted to know something about Caitanyadeva's sannyāsa guru. After thinking about what answer He should give, Advaita Prabhu told him that by worldly standards Keśava Bhāratī was Śrī Caitanya's sannyāsa guru.
Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.150
‘bhāratī lokaśikṣā-līlāya mahāprabhura guru, advaitācāryera ei uttara–
eta bhāvi' balilā advaita mahāśaya
“keśava-bhāratī caitanyera guru haya
Jayapatākā Swami: After thinking in this way, Advaita Mahāśaya told the sannyāsī, “Keśava Bhāratī is Śrī Caitanya’s sannyāsa guru.
Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.151
dekhitecha—guru tāna keśava bhāratī
āra kene tabe jijñāsaha āmā’-prati?”
Jayapatākā Swami: “I understand that You already know that Keśava Bhāratī is His guru, so why are you asking Me in this regard?”
Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.152
ei mātra advaita balite sei-kṣaṇe
dhāiyā acyutānanda āilā sei sthāne
Jayapatākā Swami: As soon as Advaita Ācārya was speaking in that place, Acyutānanda ran, coming to that place.
Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.153
pañcama-varṣa-vayaska bālaka acyutānandera āgamana o advaita-vākye krodha-prakāśa—
pañca-varṣa vayasa—madhura digambara
khelā kheli' sarva aṅga dhūlāya dhusara
Jayapatākā Swami: Acyutānanda was only five years old and stood there sweetly naked, and his entire body covered with dust from childhood play.
Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.154
abhinna kārttika yena sarvāṅga sundara
sarvajña parama bhakta sarva-śakti-dhara
Jayapatākā Swami: Acyutānanda‘s body was as attractive as that of Kārtikeya. He had full knowledge, he was a great devotee, and he possessed all potencies.
Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 4.155
‘caitanyera guru āche' vacana śuniyā
krodhāveśe kahe kichu hāsiyā hāsiyā
Jayapatākā Swami: When he heard Lord Caitanya had a spiritual master, he became very angry yet smiled as he spoke.
Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Ādi-līlā, 12.14
“ki balilā bāpa! bala dekhi āra bāra
‘caitanyera guru āche’ vicāra tomāra
Translation: When Acyutānanda heard from his father that Keśava Bhāratī was the spiritual master of Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu, he was very unhappy.
Jayapatākā Swami: Although Acyutānanda was a small boy, he was playing and was covered with dust, and he was not wearing clothes, still when he heard that Lord Caitanya supposedly had a guru, he became very angry, knowing Caitanya Mahāprabhu’s Absolute position.
Thus ends the chapter entitled, Acyutānanda Becomes Angry Hearing Śrī Advaita Prabhu Say that Keśava Bhāratī is Śrī Caitanyadeva's Spiritual Master.
