Question: How to deal with attachment of those whom we preach to and guide them to Kṛṣṇa consciousness?

Jayapatākā Swami: It is quite hard to understand this question. If we are preaching to someone, you are attached to that person. But the point is we are preaching to help the souls get back to Kṛṣṇa. So, if we want to enjoy the person we are preaching to, that is mundane. If you want to help that person, that is spiritual. So sometimes someone we are preaching to doesn’t take it properly, or doesn’t understand properly or doesn’t take it up seriously. So we would feel sad. So, this is how the material world is filled with these kind of people. And I feel so much attached to Śrīla Prabhupāda, he has sacrificed so much to help me. So you should be very grateful to the spiritual master, because he has helped us get out of the material world. So if someone is giving us anxiety, then how much anxiety we are giving to our guru! But the guru is trying to help the disciple not to enjoy. Hare Kṛṣṇa!

Question: How to overcome false ego?

Jayapatākā Swami: How to overcome false ego? - by replacing it with real ego. Real ego is to serve guru and Gaurāṅga. And false ego is thinking about the material body. So this is the Kali-yuga. If we have to do something for the material body, we pray to Kṛṣṇa, to please forgive us and to let you understand pure devotional service, bhakti-yoga.
