Sunīti Instructs Dhruva – Viśvambhara's Narration to Śacī-devī
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.61
e vela śuniyā kānde dhruvera jananī
kṛṣṇa nāhi bhaji vāpu muñi abhāginī
Jayapatākā Swami: Hearing these words Dhruva’s mother cried and said, “My dear son I never worshiped Lord Kṛṣṇa, I am very unfortunate.”
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.62
janame-janame āmi kṛṣṇa nāhi bhābi
kṛṣṇera sevaka āmi, tāhā nāhi seri
Jayapatākā Swami: Birth after birth, I never worshipped, I never thought of Lord Kṛṣṇa. I am a servant of Lord Kṛṣṇa, but I never served Him.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.63
nā kānda nā kānda bāchā durbhāgīra beṭā
dāsīputra baliyā satāi dile khoṁṭā
Jayapatākā Swami: Don’t cry, don’t cry, my dear son, if your stepmother calls you the son of an unfortunate lady, or calls you the son of a maidservant, or insults you.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.64
dhruva kāndi māe bole prabodha-vacana
gaurāguṇa gāya sukhe ai dāsa locana
Jayapatākā Swami: So, as Dhruva was crying, his mother spoke, pacifying him by enlightening words. In this way, Locana dāsa joyfully sings the transcendental glories of Lord Gaura.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.65
sindhaḍa
abhāgīra udare putra, janma haila tora dhruva,
kṛṣṇasevā nāhi kari āmi
bāpera dulāla naha, siṁhāsane caḍite cāha,
hatabhāgā nā janmile tumi
Jayapatākā Swami: My dear son, Dhruva. You took birth from the womb of an unfortunate woman. I never served Lord Kṛṣṇa. You are not loved by your father, and you wish to sit on a throne. But you are born from a woman who is unfortunate. We see how Sunīti is lamenting, she is in a situation where she is a co-wife and the king, her husband, favors the other wife. So, in this way, she feels she is unfortunate. This is a very difficult situation for her, and so she is explaining this to her son, Dhruva.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.66
nā kānda nā kānda dhruva, tore kahi anubhava,
śuna śuna āmāra vacana
Jayapatākā Swami: Dhruva my dear son, Don’t cry, don’t cry, I will tell you my realization. Listen, listen to my words.

Jayapatākā Swami: Hear, in the past, your stepmother worshipped Lord Kṛṣṇa, that’s why she is fortunate.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.67
kṛṣṇera caraṇa bhaje, siṁhāsana kise lāge,
yāhā cāha tāhā tumi pābe
Jayapatākā Swami: If you worship the lotus feet of Lord Kṛṣṇa, sitting on a siṁhāsana or throne, is very insignificant. Whatever you want, you can get.
michā abhimāna teja, kṛṣṇera caraṇa bhaja,
anāyāse saba tumi pābe
Jayapatākā Swami: Give up your false pride. Worship the lotus feet of Lord Kṛṣṇa, and you will very easily get everything.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.68
tumi hena mora beṭā, saṁsāra juḍe khoṁṭā,
kemane caḍibe bāpera kole
Jayapatākā Swami: Since you are my son, in this material world, you are like a thorn, and how can you desire to sit on your father’s lap?
āmi janma tābhāginī, e vela śunijñā rāṇī,
bhāsite lāgila aśrujale
Jayapatākā Swami: From my birth, I am very unfortunate. Having spoken this, the queen Sunīti, floated in a flood of tears.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.69
āre dhruva śuna śuna āmāra vacana
Jayapatākā Swami: Oh, Dhruva my dear son, listen, listen, to my words.
tora duḥkha-vimocana, karite nā pāre āna,
bine eka kamalalocala.
Jayapatākā Swami: Hear, there is no one else who can free you from this suffering, other than the lotus eyed one, Lord Kṛṣṇa.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.70
brahmā ādi deva yata, kṛṣṇasevā kari kata,
uccapada laila svargabhūmi
Jayapatākā Swami: How many times did Lord Brahmā and the other demigods serve Lord Kṛṣṇa, that they attained their exalted positions in the heavenly planets?
tumi yadi kṛṣṇa bhaja, siṁhāsana kona pada,
trailokya pūjita habe tumi
Jayapatākā Swami: If you worship Lord Kṛṣṇa what is the position of getting a throne, you will be worshipped by everyone in the three worlds.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.71
māera vacana śuni, dhruva mane mane guṇi,
kothā pāba kṛṣṇera uddeśa
Jayapatākā Swami: Hearing the words of his mother, Dhruva was very pleased in his mind, and asked his mother, how will I find Lord Kṛṣṇa?
madhuvane kṛṣṇa pābe, tatāye kemane yābe,
tore āmi kari upadeśa
Jayapatākā Swami: Dhruva’s mother replied, you will find Lord Kṛṣṇa in Madhuvana. As far as how you will go there, this advice I will give you.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.72
uttānapādera putra, yadi haṅa mora suta,

Jayapatākā Swami: My dear son of Uttānapada, if you are truly my son, and if you wish to sit on this throne.
tabe dhruva nāma dharoṁ tomāke saubhāgya kare,
sei siṁhāsana yadi leṅa
Jayapatākā Swami: So the name Dhruva which I gave to you, will truly bring you good fortune, if you get the throne.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.73
māyera caraṇadhūli, śirete bhūṣaṇa kari,
śubhakṣaṇe yātrā kari laḍe
Jayapatākā Swami: Dhruva Mahārāja, decorated his head with the dust of his mother’s lotus feet. At an auspicious moment, he went on the pilgrimage.
śrīkṛṣṇacaraṇa dhyāna, mane kari anumāna,
svarge jaya jayakāra paḍe
Jayapatākā Swami: The demigods in the heavenly planets, contemplating on the lotus feet of Lord Kṛṣṇa, they exclaimed, “Jaya! Jaya! Haribol!”
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.74

Jayapatākā Swami: You give me the instructions, where I should go, that I will get the dearest friend, Śyāmasundara.
āra aparūpa kathā śuna sarvajana
prabhu belena- śacīmātā karena śravaṇa
Jayapatākā Swami: Everyone please listen to this wonderful account where Lord Gaurāṅga speaks and mother Śacī listens.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.75
māyera caraṇadhūli śirete bandiyā
māyere prabodha dena kāndiyā kāndiyā
Jayapatākā Swami: Taking his mother’s lotus foot dust on his head, Dhruva consoled his mother, who was crying and crying.
Caitanya Maṅgala, Madhya-khaṇḍa 11.76
calilena madhuvana dhruva mahāśaya
kṛṣṇa-bhakti uccapada kariyā hṛdaya
Jayapatākā Swami: When Dhruva Mahāśaya went to Madhuvana, there in heart he accepted Kṛṣṇa bhakti, devotion to Lord Kṛṣṇa, as the topmost position.
So Lord Caitanya is telling this history to Mother Śacī which will go on, and he was saying how Dhruva Mahārāja went to Madhuvana. There he would accept the shelter of Lord Kṛṣṇa.
