20220605 Online Initiation Address for Khasadeśa and Japanese Devotees

The following is an initiation address given by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on June 5th, 2022 in Chennai,India. Initiation Address was given to the Khasadeśa & Japanese Devotees.

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
paramānandaṁ mādhavaṁ śrī caitanya iśvaram

Hariḥ oṁ tat sat!

Jayapatākā Swami: I will give a short class. Śrīla Prabhupāda had been explaining that we are not the body, we are the spirit soul. Jīvera svarūpa haya kṛṣṇera nitya dāsa. By Kṛṣṇa’s mercy we are actually His servitors. Somehow this material world is a place where souls who don’t want to serve Kṛṣṇa are put. But the human life is also an opportunity to return home back to Godhead. So, this material world gives us an opportunity to return home, back to Godhead. There is some enjoyment in this material world but there is more suffering in comparison. So, if we have a peaceful or happy life, then we should thank Kṛṣṇa. And we should keep Kṛṣṇa in the center. For instance, having Deities at home, having Bhagavad-gītā and Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam at home and regularly reading those transcendental books. So the Bhagavad-gītā, Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, give us a chance to associate with Śrīla Prabhupāda. Keśavī Mātājī and Jalāṅgī Mātājī, I think they have achieved the Bhakti-vedānta degree. So they are very kind, they are sharing their knowledge with all the devotees in Khasadeśa and Japan. So chanting japa, chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa in saṅkīrtana, these are ways to keep Kṛṣṇa in the center. Also, to serve Kṛṣṇa in the temple or in any other way. In this way, keep Kṛṣṇa in the center and Kṛṣṇa will be very happy with you. Those who are in the material world are suffering and enjoying. But if people develop taste for chanting and hearing then they will become more and more attached to Kṛṣṇa. Most of the people think they are the body, their land of birth is worshipable. But now we are born in a certain body in a certain country. When we die, the body dies, the soul doesn’t die. Gradually we will awaken our dormant love for Kṛṣṇa. In this way, we can taste the ecstasy, the bliss that Lord Caitanya gave freely. So, we want everyone to awaken their dormant love for Kṛṣṇa. In this way, to everyone you meet tell them about Kṛṣṇa’s glories. Lord Caitanya said, yāre dekha, tāre kaha ‘kṛṣṇa’-upadeśa. Whoever you meet tell them the glories of Kṛṣṇa.

So taking initiation means connecting with the guru-paramparā. And that one doesn’t do anything by speculation, one does everything by receiving it from guru and guru-paramparā. Taking initiation means that one is now under the shelter of guru and Kṛṣṇa. In this way, one can understand the real purpose of human life. This human life is something very rare. There are eight million four hundred thousand species of life. So you have gone through all these species of life and achieved human birth. So, this is your opportunity to go back home back to Godhead. We hope that everybody will be very careful to take this process very sincerely and thus make this your last life in the material world. I am very happy that you have taken up Kṛṣṇa consciousness. In this way, you can make your human life a grand success. You have to avoid breaking the regulative principles. Chant at least 16 rounds a day. Help me with fulfilling the instructions that Śrīla Prabhupāda gave me. Avoid committing any of the ten offences to the holy name.
