The following is an initiation lecture given by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on December 24, 2002 – in Taiping, Malaysia.

Purpose of human life is to realize the self and to realize Krishna and to gates ourselves and Krishna service Manda Nami Pati. Maya makes us think that so many other hard struggles for existence are the only purpose of life. And this way we waste so much valuable time.

Simply we need to adjust our priorities that we put ourselves above the eternal self, above the temporary things. The body is thinking. That means that whatever they do it as a devotional service for Krishna. They can do this in their home and there’s no problems in it. How many of you are practicing Krishna consciousness from your home? Thank you very much. So we want that everyone should make their home into a temple, make their body into a temple and make the temple also. We put on TLAC in the 12 parts of our body, consecrating the body as a temple. It says that when someone sees this Gopi Chanda and Tilak, they get freed from so many bad karmas. It’s very powerful and very auspicious. I personally experienced that because first time I saw t lock it was a very big shot from.

Because in the spiritual world they’re also wearing tea light. Everything that we do has very great significance. There was a lady who was born in a very wealthy family and she married a wealthy husband who was a rich Maya. And they had a nice house and a nice income. Everything was going very nice. But suddenly her husband developed a strong allergy and he developed very severe asthma and he got asthma attacks. So one night he got such a severe asthma attack. This was many thousands of years ago. He died at the age of 30. Then the wife was a widow and she was lamenting over the loss of her husband. In those days it was not acceptable for widows to be married. But she was feeling very lonely. So then she started to meet some male friends.

And this was creating some talk in the town. The father in law told her that we have unmarried daughters in our family and they won’t get married. If people think that our Family is not really strict in their chastity. If you want to live in our house then you have to follow strictly rules of chastity. Otherwise you shouldn’t stay here if you’re going to be mixing with men. So she moved down and she built herself a house on the outskirts of the town. And she became famous as a kind of not very strictly. She purchased a parrot from one bird seller. Two words. All day she would be talking to her parents. Parrots have a special accent. Parrot accent. So like this she’d be chanting all day to her parents, Rama. Rama. Rama. Rama. Rama. Rama. Rama. Rama. Rama. Sam.

So this lady was actually better than Jamil because she developed. And one day there was a big storm. And the lady and her parents died. To take away their souls to punish the lady for her sins. But the Vishnu just came and bragged him and said, you cannot take her. She was chanting the name of Rama as was her parent. You cannot take them. But the Amadutas were angry that she’s a sinner. What does it mean if she chants the name of Rama? She should burn in hell for her sins. They didn’t listen to the Vishnu Dutas and they tried to take away forcibly the atmas of the two dead persons. And set them free. Set them free. Were angry at the Vishnu Dutas and took burning coals from hell and free lamb. Then they attacked the Vishnu duttas with swords.

But the Vishnu duttas let their Sudarshan chakras attack the Yamadutas causing them very heavy injury. Then the leader of the Yamadutas came forward. His name was the crusher. Crush him. And he met with the leader of the Yamadutas whose name was. Took his mace, his Gadda and with all his strength he smashed it on the chest of the Vishnu Buddha. The Yama Duta hit the Vishnu Duta with his club and the Vishnu duta was not affected. Then the Vishnu very gently tapped the Yamadura on the chest of his throat. But it was so heavy for the Yamada that the y started bleeding blood from the mouth, nose, ears, eyes and pores and the skin. Took their leader and their wounded and went back to Yamaraj to ask why they were stopped. Who are these people with forearms?

So Yamara said, actually I am a servant of Vishnu and these are messengers of Vishnu. You should not have fought with them. You shouldn’t bring to me. Those persons who chant the names of the Lord. Krishna, rama, vishnu, etc. Those people who are doing devotional service. Those people who don’t tell lies those people who are doing work service for helping others. God bring that to me. Because those who are chanting the name of Krishna they are under the protection of Krishna. Who wants to be under the protection of Krishna? Who wants to be fair game for the Yamadutas? Fair game who wants to be like candidates for Yemen? So this initiation process and this process of devotional service is to protect you from y and also to protect you from so many difficulties in your life.

So these two Lordians have been practicing for some time very steadily and so they’re now getting this blessing of initiation so that they can have more strength to go forward back to Krishna. Foreign. We have also today a few people here who have got awards for the marathon.
