mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
paramānanda-mādhavam śrī caitanya īśvaram
Harihi oṁ tat sat

Jayapatākā Swami:  So you visited the holy places in Madurai. There are two ISKCON temples in Madurai. This is one of the temples and Śaṅkadhārī is in charge of another. So Lord Caitanya, visited some places around Madurai. This is called as ‘South Mathurā’. So, here there are various temples. Lord Caitanya, when He went to South India, He came here. Everywhere He went, He told the people, chant Hare Kṛṣṇa!

yāre dekha, tāre kaha ‘kṛṣṇa’-upadeśa
āmāra ājñāya guru hañā tāra’ ei desa
[Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta 7.128]

Translation: “Instruct everyone to follow the orders of Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa as they are given in the Bhagavad-gītā and Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. In this way become a spiritual master and try to liberate everyone in this land.”

He gave this order wherever He went. Doctors told me I should not wear flowers. That’s why when they give me garlands, I take them off! We are very glad that the Safari devotees are visiting holy places in South India. In some places they installed the lotus footprints of Lord Caitanya. So we are going to install 24 lotus footprints in South India!

So, this is an opportunity for all of you to worship Lord Caitanya’s lotus feet! One of the temples you visited in Kumbhakonam, the Lord in the temple has a name called Ārāvamuthan. What that means in English is, “Inexhaustible nectar.”

So there are many devotees here, apart from the Safari devotees! I need some help! Śrīla Prabhupāda told me to expand this preaching unlimitedly! So I cannot expand the preaching unlimitedly! I need all of your help! So everyone you meet, tell them the teachings of Kṛṣṇa in the Bhagavad-gītā. And chant the holy names.

Who chants Hare Kṛṣṇa here? How many countries are represented here? Devotees from 30 countries are in the Safari! So how many times did we have devotees from 30 countries have come to this temple? So this is what I heard. So, we want to have all the people in Madurai chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa! So there are devotees here from Russia, America, etc. So, in this temple they have Nitāi Gaura and Kṛṣṇa Balarāma. Also Lakṣmī Narasiṁhadeva. Narasiṁhadeva can remove all the obstacles. And Kṛṣṇa Balarāma, They have Their pastimes in Vṛndāvana. Then They went to Mathurā, and Madurai is called Dakṣiṇa Mathurā. So, then Kṛṣṇa went from Mathurā to Dvārakā. Lord Caitanya, He visited many places in Vraja and in Mathurā. Then He visited South India. Madurai – Southern Mathurā. Many places around here, the different avatāras have Their līlās. So, in Rāmeśvaram, Lord Rāma had His pastimes. Lord Caitanya also visited Rāmeśvaram. We all have to keep in mind and remind ourselves that Lord Caitanya visited all these places. Therefore we are installing the lotus footprints of Lord Caitanya. People are showing the pictures of the lotus footprints. We will later send all the pictures to the GBC. So everyone should know that are temples here in South India with unlimited nectar!

Kṛṣṇa, He was thinking that He was enjoying so much in Vraja. But people have been deprived of that nectar. So He decided He would come in Kali-yuga as a devotee. He combined with Rādhārāṇī and He had a golden complexion. This way He wanted for the next ten thousand years, to deliver all the people! We are taking birth after birth, in this material world. But Lord Caitanya wants to experience kṛṣṇa-prema, which is pure bliss!  Haribol!

I heard that the Safari devotees are going to Rāmeśvaram tomorrow. I will go for my dialysis tomorrow during the day and will be here to receive you in the night! So part of the Bhūloka is where we accumulate karma. How many of you are initiated? I am very glad to be here in Madurai. I heard that they want to give you prasāda! Since Lord Caitanya had wanted all the people delivered, we should see how we can deliver the residents of Madurai! Lord Caitanya when He was walking in South India, He would embrace all the people on the way. He was a sannyāsī but would He would embrace all the people! Like this He was distributing kṛṣṇa-prema to all! So, we are 500 years too late! But it is not too late to chant!

Gaurāṅga! Nityānanda!

I heard there is a temple here called Nityānanda Perumāl. That some avadhūta from Bengal came here and chanted Hare Kṛṣṇa! That is why we should have installed the lotus footprints of Lord Nityānanda as well here! So Nitāi is Balarāma and Lord Caitanya is Kṛṣṇa. Nitāi Gaurāṅga! Nitāi Gaurāṅga! Nitāi Gaurāṅga!
