mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim

Question: We in Māyāpur during Kumbha-melā, devotees went and took bath in Prayāga. We heard that Pañca-veṇī in Navadvīpa, if one takes bath there on the same tithi as the Kumbha-melā, could you please let me know the result.

Jayapataka Swami: Very good question. The devatas from Svargaloka come to take bath here. The scriptures do not say that by bathing in which river we get more benefit, but taking bath in Pañca-veṇī definitely we get special benefit. Haribol! Gaurāṅga!

Question: While serving amongst the devotees, many times we get discriminated, and face partiality. In such cases our enthusiasm to serve dedicatedly and purely goes down. We feel little insecure. How to remain fixed in our service to spiritual master and paramparā with a pure, dedicated attitude?

Jayapataka Swami: If you are trying to please your guru and previous ācāryas and Kṛṣṇa, then why should you be affected by this so called discrimination.

Question: We are eager to hear about your sannyāsa ceremony that took place in Calcutta. We heard that you took sannyāsa in 3C, Albert Road in Śrīla Prabhupāda’s room. We also heard from His Grace Saṅkarṣaṇa Prabhu that your sannyāsa ceremony had taken place in Hindustan Park. If you can kindly elaborate.

Jayapataka Swami: At Hindustan Park was my sannyāsa initiation. I was the eleventh person to receive sannyāsa.

Question: What are the two essential things you want all your disciples should do? What are the two things you want your disciples to avoid at all cost? Have you ever felt regret for anything in your life?

Jayapataka Swami: Of course, the promises that you take at the time of initiation like chanting and avoiding breaking the regulative principles, that should be followed. You know, Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu wanted that His mission be spread all over the world.
