The class was about the upcoming Caitanya Book and was given at the Lotus Building Rooftop.

Guru Mahārāja speaks in Bengali [laughter]

Welcome to His Holiness Bhakti Nityānanda Swami and 200 Bhakti Vriksha members from Calcutta (Kolkota).

 I welcome them.

Normally I give a translation of 40 minutes. We are going systematically through the pastimes of Lord Caitanya. My secretaries and other well-wishers say that I should give shorter time tonight. They say that I am tired (laughter by devotees).

They said 10 minutes, I said 20.

Lord Caitanya, He went back from the house of Vallabhacharya to his own house, since we read this in Bengali and I will be translating in English, so those who know Bengali would be able to understand.

(Guru Mahārāja speaks in Bengali)

So the men and women ran up to see the Divine couple. When the men saw Lord Bishambar and Lakshmipriya, they said Dhanya!! Dhanya!! Glorious!! Glorious!!

Devotees : Hari Bol!! Hari Bol !!

Guru Mahārāja asks all of them to say Dhanya!! Dhanya!!

And the ladies they were amazed. They chanted Hari Bol and Ulu Dhwani

Devotees: Hari Bol and Ulu Dhwani

All laugh

Sometimes in Bangladesh, they sometimes have a festival, with 50000 people and 25-30000 would be ladies [laughter]. They are all do this Ulu Dhawani.. It is all like outer space [laughter]. This sounds are made by Deva Strees from Heaven. The angels.

Someone said this couple looks like Lord Shiva and Parvati. So suddenly to have this divine appearance they must have rendered pure devotional service. Because the Lord was appearing before them as a Channa Avatar, a hidden incarnation, so they didn’t realize he was the Lord himself. But they could understand that his appearance was something extraordinary. So, they remembered the diving wedding of Lord Shiva and Parvati. And saw that the ceremony resembled that.

(Bengali)

Does a bride get such a husband by a little pious activity, asked someone rhetorically?  I understand that this is like Hara and Gauri, Shiva and Parvati.

(Bengali)

Different ladies spoke whatever came to their mind. Someone said this is like Indra and his wife Saci. Someone else said this is like Cupid (Kamadev) and his consort Rati. Someone said this is like Lakshmi and Narayana.

{Bengali}

Another lady said they are like Sita and Ram. They look very beautiful over the palanquin and they are incomparable.

(Bengali)

So all the ladies who came and saw them sitting on the hanging palanquin, they saw that they were appearing most beautiful and everyone had their realization that their beauty was like Lakshmi and Narayana.

(Bengali)

So in this way accompanied by dancers in front, by songs and musical band accompaniment, creating a massive sound and festive environment, Prabhu arrived at his own house as the sun set.

(Bengali) Caitanya Mangal

So Mother Saci came very blissful to receive her son and his bride. She came in a playful and jolly mood. It was her son’s arrival festival. So, she observed it enthusiastically.

(Bengali)

By the doorway there were full clay pots placed. She sent full clay pots to be placed at the doorway. She gave coconut to greet her son. Coconuts were on the top of the clay pots. These were presented to her son. It is customary that on certain occasions to have the auspicious clay pots with coconuts on top. And those coconut pots are touched, that signifies a kind of welcome to the house.

Gauranga!! Nityananda!!
