Question: According to the advice of Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī one has to have association with likeminded devotees, is it based on one’s consciousness, or as per philosophy or in society only?

Jayapatākā Swami: Sanātana Gosvāmī’s śikṣā was to associate with likeminded devotees. So that is what he said. So, it doesn’t answer these questions you are asking. What does a likeminded devotee mean? You know, that would depend on what your mentality was. If someone has a similar thought process, you should associate with. That would depend on what consciousness they have. Some people it may be this thing other people it may be something else. A likeminded person, you should be able to ascertain.
