20250824 Homage to Ānandamaya Prabhu (ACBSP)

I heard today you are having the Smṛti-sabhā for His Grace Ānandamaya Prabhu. I wanted to join online, but because of my health I am not able to join. So I am sending this message.

I first met Ānandamaya Prabhu in Kolkata in 1972. He had met Tamāla Kṛṣṇa Goswami, and Ācyutānanda Swami and Guru-kṛpā Prabhu in Bihar. They had gone from Calcutta to Bihar for preaching. So Ānandamaya Prabhu came back with them to Calcutta. He was very humble and soft spoken. Then he went to Vṛndāvana and took initiation.

Later, I met him in Hyderabad, he had started Hyderabad BBT. Even though he was French speaking, he dedicated his life for translating Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books to Telugu. Because of his mercy, we have Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books in Telugu today.

Ānandamaya Prabhu, he also had a strong sādhana – attending maṅgala-ārati and Gaura-ārati everyday till he was very sick. Through Telugu BBT publications, he printed 55 lakhs of Telugu literature including 16 lakhs Bhagavad-gītā books (16 titles).

Now, although we feel the pain of separation, we know that Ānandamaya Prabhu has returned to Śrīla Prabhupāda’s lotus feet. He gave his life to spreading Prabhupāda’s books.
