5 Sep 2025|English|Zoom Address|Śrī Māyāpur, India

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
paramānanda-mādhavam śrī caitanya īśvaram
Harihi oṁ tat sat

Jayapatākā Swami: (Streaming started abruptly) So, we are celebrating Onam today in Kerala! So, it is nice to see so many devotees. Some devotees have their videos turned on. When I went to Kerala, they gave me that Kerala food, special prasāda! I had puṭṭu, with that chickpea curry on. That had different layers. So there was the rice and then coconut and (AUDIO BREAK) Lord Caitanya taught everyone to chant the holy name, Hare Kṛṣṇa! By chanting the holy name, it cleanses the heart, and one gradually awakens the dormant love for Kṛṣṇa. Today is also the appearance day of Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura. He is a special ācārya in our line. He was a gṛhastha who was working for the government. And he would try to find the original place of Lord Caitanya’s appearance. So he carried his guru in a basket on his head and his guru was 113 years old to a field filled plants. So the Mohammadans said that this land is cursed and nothing grows here.., only tulasī grows here! Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura walked to that land and Siddha Jagannātha Bābājī, who could normally not walk, got out and started jumping there on that land! In that way they found the birthplace of Lord Caitanya! He started chanting Gaurāṅga! Haribol! Haribol! One of his children was His Holiness Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura, who is one of our great ācāryas, our Śrīla Prabhupāda’s guru. Śrīla Prabhupāda said that all our gṛhasthas should have ācāryas as children. We should have millions of ācāryas! Because the world needs it! And every gṛhastha should be a paramahaṁsa! That means, all the gṛhastha devotees should always think about Kṛṣṇa and try to please Kṛṣṇa. When the devotees want to have children, they should perform the garbhadāna-saṁskāra and pray to Kṛṣṇa to have a devotee child and miracles could happen!

Day after tomorrow is Pūrṇimā and there is lunar eclipse that day. But on the Pūrṇimā day, Bhadra Pūrṇimā, anyone who gives a Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam set to someone else, they get a free ticket to go back home to Godhead! You can present it anyone- husband to wife or wife to husband. Parents to children. Or to neighbors. (AUDIO BREAK)

So today we would like to chant the holy name:

Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/
Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare!

1728 mantras equals 16 rounds. So, just as (AUDIO BREAK) So, Lord Caitanya told us that by chanting the holy name, the name of Kṛṣṇa and Kṛṣṇa are not different, so we can get the association of Lord Kṛṣṇa. Lord Caitanya also visited Kerala and He was preaching there. He was chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa! And He wanted everyone to chant Hare Kṛṣṇa! By doing so, on the order of Lord Caitanya, you can chant the Pañca-tattva mantra also:

śrī-kṛṣṇa-caitanya prabhu-nityānanda
śrī-advaita gadādhara śrīvāsādi-gaura-bhakta-vṛnda

This human form of life is very rare. And we have to take many, many births. So while we have it, we should read Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books. Also, some of the books are available in Malayalam.

So we wish everybody a blissful Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura appearance day! Before he died, he told his son, Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura to spread Lord Caitanya’s message all over the world. And Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura’s mother before leaving the world, held her son’s hand and asked him to spread the mission of Lord Caitanya all over the world! (AUDIO BREAK)

Apparently, our internet is not so strong. We offer our blessings to everyone!

Kṛṣṇe matir astu!

Anyone has any question? You can write in the chat box.

Jagat-sākṣi Dāsa: Devotees from all over Kerala including devotees from various centers including Guruvayur, South Vṛndāvana, Kannoor, etc. about 600 plus connections. Many special prayers have been requested for by many devotees. Many devotees want to do some offerings by zoom.

Jayapatākā Swami: You can give the land to Jagat-sākṣi and he will take it on my behalf. Is it alright? Any questions anyone has?

Question: How can we manage spiritual life and gṛhastha life and job life for women outside?

Jayapatākā Swami: You see, keep your mind always on Kṛṣṇa. When you sleep with your husband try to think of Kṛṣṇa and pray to Kṛṣṇa when you do the garbhadāna-saṁskāra. In your house you can have Deities and worship Them. If you can go to the local temple nearby and engage in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. So like this, Lord Caitanya said whether you are a gṛhastha or in the renounced order of life – gṛhe thāko vane thāko sadā hari bole ḍāko – everyone can chant Hare Kṛṣṇa!

I saw the Trivandrum report today. They have 14 outposts. That is truly amazing! So, how many of those places, you would place the lotus footprints of Lord Caitanya?

Jagat-sākṣi Dāsa: As per the Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Lord Caitanya has visited five places in Kerala – Trivandrum, Varkala, Ādi Keśava Temple in Thiruvattar, Chengannoor and Shertala. But details are given only give for three places – Trivandrum, Varkala Janardhana temple and Ādi Keśava temple. So, Trivandrum and Ādi Keśava are over. Construction is going on for Varkala, by the end of this year we will do. In Chengannoor and Shertala we don’t know the exact locations. So in Chengannoor we are planning to buy a place and anyway place Lord Caitanya’s lotus feet. Shertala is very close to Ernakulum, so maybe Ernakulum devotees might plan. Maybe mostly by next year out of five, four places we will be having, Guru Mahārāja.

Jayapatākā Swami: So we can check apart from Caitanya-caritāmṛta if there is any other place mentioned in any other śāstras? Along the way if there is any other temple we can assume that He visited there. Guruvayur is mentioned anywhere? (Jagat-sākṣi Dāsa: No, not in the Caitanya-caritāmṛta. Guruvayur is in the middle part of Kerala and Lord Caitanya visited only the southern part of Kerala) I thought He went all the way up the coast and went to Uḍupī which is on the coast?
