mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-gurun dina tāriṇam
paramānanda-mādhavam śrī caitanya īśvaram
Harihi oṁ tat sat

Jayapatākā Swami: We have come to Ādi-saptagrāma today which is a very transcendental place. Because Lord Caitanya came to Navadvīpa dhāma and Lord Nityānanda, He came here. Just like Lord Caitanya organized the movement in Navadvīpa, Lord Nityānanda organized the saṅkīrtana movement here. That is why this is a place of great importance. Lord Nityānanda is the special mercy avatāra of Lord Caitanya. Lord Nityānanda Prabhu is the special mercy avatāra of Lord Caitanya. He was an incarnation of Lord Balarāma. Kṛṣṇa Balarāma were in Vṛndāvana. In Navadvīpa, Lord Caitanya and Lord Nityānanda came as incarnations of Lord Kṛṣṇa and Lord Balarāma. Not only in Navadvīpa, They came to the whole of Bengal. At that time, West Bengal and East Bengal were one. Anyway, when Nārada Muni came to Lord Brahmā, and he said that I travel all over the brahmāṇḍas, universes, and how will the people of this age be delivered from the effects of Kali-yuga? So Lord Brahmā told him that if this mantra is chanted, all the ill-effects of Kali will be removed. He said that in the Kali-santaraṇa Upaniṣad there is the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra:

Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/
Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare!

You all are chanting very well!

In this way, Lord Caitanya went to Nīlācala dhāma. There Lord Caitanya spoke to Lord Nityānanda and said that we have come here but our work in Bengal is not yet finished. That is why You go back to Bengal and complete the rest of the preaching there. Lord Nityānanda then came to Pānihāṭi dhāma. After that He went to Kharadāha. Gradually, travelling, He came to Ādi-saptagrāma. Here, He spent a lot of time here and did preaching here nicely. Here there were a lot of vaiśyas, businessmen, mostly gold merchants. Lord Nityānanda brought all of them on the right path and requested them to join the saṅkīrtana movement. Not only requested, but they joined Him and performed the saṅkīrtana movement. This way, it became a massive saṅkīrtana movement here. That is why for us, this is a very important place.

One day Pārvatī Devī, asked Lord Śiva, that the senses are agitated like a crocodile and very difficult to control the senses. So in Kali-yuga what is the solution for people? Lord Śiva said that if they chant Harināma:

Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/
Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare!

Then they will become very fortunate and protected. So, we have all come here to express our gratitude to you. Lord Nityānanda was here, this place is so important! That is why in this Kali-yuga please chant the holy name in japa and preach the holy name. People in general think what is the use of chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra? Lord Brahmā, Lord Śiva said that the only solution in Kali-yuga is to chant the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra.

harer nāma harer nāma
harer nāmaiva kevalam
kalau nāsty eva nāsty eva
nāsty eva gatir anyathā
[Cc. Ādi 17.21]

In this Age of Kali there is no other means, no other means, no other means, for deliverance other than the chanting of the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra. That is why in this Kali-yuga this is the only solution – to chant the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra. I hope that Ādi-saptagrāma would be protected and auspicious by the chanting of the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra.

In the Chennai temple, I had watched a play performed by the children. One child was playing the part of Yamarāja and there were two Yamadūtas. The Yamadūtas were complaining that all the people that all the gṛhasthas were chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa, reading the Bhagavad-gītā, Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Caitanya-caritāmṛta, performing ārati and having prasāda. So we are not able to bring them to hell. We are not be able to punish anyone! So, this was a very nice drama. We don’t desire that anyone from Ādi-saptagrāma go to hell! So if you don’t wish that, chant Hare Kṛṣṇa! What do you think?

The beautiful lotus foot prints of Lord Nityānanda are here. Our wish is that these lotus foot prints of Lord Nityānanda may always remain embedded in your hearts! Here where Lord Nityānanda was there, we want to install the lotus foot prints of Lord Nityānanda. It may not be possible everywhere, but we will do it in Ādi-sapta-grāma! So are you all agreeable to this?
