mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-gurun dina tāriṇam
paramānanda-mādhavam śrī caitanya īśvaram

Jayapatākā Swami: Hare Kṛṣṇa! I am very fortunate. I have been talking on this topic more but all of you are chanting, so I will not tell so much! So your name is different from you. Because we are all living beings in this material world. But Kṛṣṇa and His name are non-different. You call Kṛṣṇa, actually it is non-different from His name, pastimes, etc. So you are associating with Kṛṣṇa. And by doing that, you are purified. Just like putting iron in fire, it becomes very hot. It becomes like fire! So if you chant Hare Kṛṣṇa, then you get association with Lord Kṛṣṇa and then you become spiritualized! It may not be visible externally, but your subtle body gets changed! Instead of gratifying the senses illicitly, we want to serve Kṛṣṇa. So the housewife, they have children, they have house activities, but they may also chant Hare Kṛṣṇa. They preach and do different activities. Like that, the modern people in the society may be aspiring in their original varṇāśrama or may not, they may have lot of work to do. But whatever they do, you do it in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. That is Kṛṣṇa conscious daiva-varṇāśrama. So, I am very much interested in this topic.

We want the devotees to present this to the public. You all may have relatives, friends, neighbors, work colleagues, study colleagues, whatever. So we want to engage them – Lord Caitanya said, yāre dekha, tāre kaha ‘kṛṣṇa’-upadeśa [Cc. Madhya 7.128]. In one month, how many new people you can get to chant Hare Kṛṣṇa? Sometimes the wife can get the husband to chant, or the husband can get the wife to chant. So it is possible. Sometimes the wife cannot get the husband cannot get the wife to chant and sometimes the husband cannot get the wife to chant! So it is Kali-yuga. Getting someone to chant, actually someone can embrace Kṛṣṇa. Lord Caitanya when He was walking in South India, He would embrace people on the road, and they would immediately get overwhelmed with love of Kṛṣṇa. We don’t have that same capacity. But somehow or other if we can get people even accidentally to chant – like one devotee of Lord Caitanya met a great Kazi. Kazi is a kind of Muslim magistrate. He wasn’t Chand Kazi, some other Kazi. The devotee said, “You are very handsome, you are very powerful, you are very religious,” like this he praised him so much. But I have one request, “Can I ask you?” He said, “Yes! Of course!” the Kazi said, “Sure.” “Please forget all this and chant Hare Kṛṣṇa!” The Kazi said, “I will chant Hare Kṛṣṇa tomorrow!” The devotee was clapping his hands and said, “You have already started!” So like this somehow or another get people to chant, even if they chant one time, they will get some mercy. If they chant all the time, they will get full mercy!

So I was thinking this is the digital age and get devotees to make different videos. So if one says something, hear it with one ear and leave it through the other. If we have a video that can be shown again and again. That sticks in your mind more, maybe. But that should be a short video because people’s attention span is short. There is a Vaiṣṇavī housewife video, how many edits it went through? It is about a three-minute video! I am making videos on Kṛṣṇa conscious daiva-varṇāśrama. It went through about four edits, it is very good. I did not ask him to edit all the things, but he did it. And now there is a new copy. I have not seen it. I would like to see it – would you like to see it with me and help me edit it? I mean, Kṛṣṇa consciousness is a lot of fun! It is a lot of transcendental bliss! I mean, really bliss! I cannot even explain it! If people are not experiencing it and missing it! After many years, I am visiting North America. So staying in the holy dhāma of Māyāpur, it is very important, I was reading the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, He wants everyone to become devotees! Haridāsa Ṭhākura asked Him, “What about the plants and insects?” You worry about the insects and mosquitos!
