The following is a Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Book Compilation given by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on March 19th, 2021 in Śrī Dhāma Māyāpur, India.

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
paramānandaṁ mādhavaṁ śrī caitanya iśvaram
Hariḥ oṁ tat sat!

Continuation of the Compilation of Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya book, today’s chapter entitled:

“King Pratāparudra Sees the Six-handed Form of Lord Caitanya”

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.102

tora pada dekhibāre sādhe mo-sabhāre
ājñā pāile haya sei caraṇa-gocare

Jayapatākā Swami: The king desires to see Your Lotus feet and he has asked all of us to get your permission so that he can see Your Lotus feet."

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.103

prabhu bale—sabajana śunaha vacana
sannyāsīra dharmma nahe rāja-daraśana

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya said, “All you people listen to My words. It is not a sannyāsī's duty or dharma to see a king.

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.104

āmi ta’ sannyāsī-sei haya mahārāja
doṅhāra darśane dohāra kichu nāhi kāja

Jayapatākā Swami: I am a sannyāsī. He is a king. We have no work to see each other."

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.105

purī-gosāñi bole-prabhu kara avadhāna
e bola śunile rājā haribe geyāna

Jayapatākā Swami: Then Purī Gosvāmī said, “O Lord please listen to My words carefully. Hearing these words, the king will fall unconscious.

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.106

ye dekhila āmarā tāhāra anurāga
e kathā śunile jīu chāḍibe vipāka

Jayapatākā Swami: We have all seen how deeply he loves You. Hearing these words, he will fall into a calamity and He will commit suicide.

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.107

āji ta haiba rājāra daśa upavāsa
saba chāḍi’ paḍi’ āche caraṇa-pratyāśa

Jayapatākā Swami: Today is the tenth day of the king's fast. He has turned from all else. He desires only to see Your lotus feet.

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.108

kātara haiyā punaḥ bole sabajana 
rājāra vyagratā dekhi’ kariye yatana

Jayapatākā Swami: “Filled with sorrow he asks all of us again. Seeing the sorrow of the King, we now act on his behalf."

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.109

e bola śuniñā prabhu kahiche vacana
ānaha rājāre, muñi hailu parasanna

Jayapatākā Swami: Hearing these words Lord Caitanya said the following words, “Bring the king. I am pleased."

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.110

e bola śuniñā sabhāra bhaigela ullāsa
ānila rājāre– prabhu kare parakāśa

Jayapatākā Swami: Hearing these words everyone became joyful. They brought the king and Lord Caitanya manifested Himself.

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.111

prabhure dekhiyā rājā paraṇāma kare
premāya bihbala rājā āpanā pāśare

Jayapatākā Swami: Seeing Lord Caitanya, the king offered his respectful obeisances. Overwhelmed by ecstatic spiritual love the king forgot himself.

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.112

pulake bharila aṅga chalachala āṁkhi
preme gara gara bhela gaurā-aṅga dekhi’

Jayapatākā Swami: The hairs of his body stood erect. Tears streamed from his eyes. His voice was choked with ecstatic love. He gazed at Lord Gaura's transcendental form.

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.113

rājāre dekhiyā prabhu lahu-lahu hāsa
ṣaḍbhuja śarīra rājā dekhe parakāśa

Jayapatākā Swami: Gazing at the king, Lord Caitanya, He gently smiled. Then the king saw Lord Caitanya manifest a six-handed form.

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.114

ṣaḍbhuja dekhiyā daṇḍa-paraṇāma kare
ṭalamala kare aṅga anurāgabhare

Jayapatākā Swami: Seeing the six-handed form, the king fell like a stick offering respects. Overcome with ecstatic spiritual love the king’s body trembled.

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.115

avaśa śarīra—nīra jhare du-nayane
caudige haridhvani paraśe gagane

Jayapatākā Swami: His body was overcome, tears flowed from his two eyes. Songs of Hari filled the four directions and touched the sky.

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.116

ḍbhuja śarīra dekhi’ śrī-pratāparudra
ānande bihbala bhāse premāra samudra

Jayapatākā Swami: Seeing Lord Caitanya's six-handed form King Pratāparudra was overcome with ecstasy. He floated in an ocean of ecstatic spiritual love.

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.117

kaṇṭakita saba aṅga āpāda-mastake
gada gada bhāse ‘prabhu prabhu’ bali’ ḍāke

Jayapatākā Swami: From his feet to head all the hairs of his body stood erect. In a voice choked with emotion he called out, Lord! Lord! Prabhu! Prabhu!"

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.118

ubha-bāhu kari’ nāce-bole haribola
janama saphala prabhu parasanna mora

Jayapatākā Swami: Raising his arms he danced and chanted, Haribol! Now my birth in this world is fruitful. Lord Caitanya is pleased with me.

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.119

ānande bhāṣaye caudige bhaktajana
prabhu bole-rājā hera śunaha vacana

Jayapatākā Swami: Devotees in the four directions, floated in an ocean of bliss. Lord Caitanya said the following words, “O king please hear My words.”

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.120

prajāra pālana tora ei baḍa dharma
prajā putra-rājā pitā-kahila e marma

Jayapatākā Swami: Your principal dharma is to protect your subjects. The subjects are children. The king is the father. What I say is the heart of a king's duty.

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.121

kṛṣṇera kevala dayā sama sarvajīve
dehera svabhāva nija jāni anubhave

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Kṛṣṇa is equally merciful to every living entity. According to their particular body each living entity perceives the world.

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.122

kibā rājā, kibā prajā—sama sukha-duḥkha
karma anurāge jīva haya gauṇa-mukhya

Jayapatākā Swami: Whether a king or whether a subject, all living entities experience both pleasures and pain or sufferings. According to his past karma each living entity has a high or a low station in this world.

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.123

nija anumāna kari’ ye jāne sabhāre
sei se kṛṣṇera dāsa-kahila tomāre

Jayapatākā Swami: I am telling to you, that he who is a true servant of Lord Kṛṣṇa, he treats all living entities as he would himself like to be treated by others."

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.124

eteka uttara prabhu kaila upadeśa
paraṇāma kare rājā ānanda viśeṣa

Jayapatākā Swami: In this way, Lord Caitanya, instructed the king. Filled with special joy the king bowed down with respect to offer.

Caitanya-Maṅgala, Śeṣa-khaṇḍa 3.125

śuna sarvajana gaurācāṅdera prakāśa
ānande kahaye guṇa e locanadāsa

Jayapatākā Swami: Listen all the devotees, how Lord Caitanya manifested the glorious six-armed form. Locana dāsa Thakura thus describes the glories of Lord Caitanya.

So this pastime is written in Caitanya-maṅgala, it is not written in other books, so this is a special pastime.

Thus, ends the chapter entitled “King Pratāparudra Sees the Six-handed Form of Lord Caitanya”.
