Vyāsa-pūjā Smaraṇam of His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja – May 5 1992, New Pāṇihāṭi Dhāma, Atlanta, USA

Or some very responsible position for prestige or for conflict. It was actually the more responsibility one takes up, the more, quote, unquote, headaches are involved. Just like I noticed about Jaipur Thakra Maharaj, how his privacy is completely taken away. What does that mean? If you analyze carefully from the time he wakes up to the time he goes to bed, someone is standing there, Maharaj, what about this? Maharaj, what about that? I have this problem. What about that? Solve this problem. So practically, there’s no time in his day for any personal life. So what he’s done, in effect, first of all by being sannyas, he’s given up his personal life. And especially by being a spiritual master, he’s giving it completely up. Because he had so many disciples. I am not sure exactly the number someone knows many disciples around the world. A few thousand.

A few thousand disciples. And he was just telling us, I believe yesterday that he’s writing something like 5, 600 letters in the course of some months to all these disciples. I can write one letter per year, maybe if I am lucky. If I can focus my attention long enough to write one letter, I am lucky. But can you imagine that responsibility? 5, 600 People writing you? Please explain this. Please help me understand that my life is on the rocks. Please save me. And all over the world the boys are praying. Please, Maharaj, Guru Maharaj, please save me. I am in Māyā, struggling. Give me your mercy. So it doesn’t leave much time for his quote, unquote, personal life. So it indicates to me that his great joy and happiness is in taking care of the devotees. Even at his own personal expense.

Even his physical health is put on the line. It’s like in the material world, nobody likes to take another person’s suffering. It causes sometimes physical effects as well as emotional effects to hear the problems of others and trying to take care of others. But he’s actually decided to take that service to help save devotees all over the planet, all over the universe, as a representative of his divine grace, AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Śrīla Prabhupāda. So this is very inspiring to me as a godbrother. And I have no difficulty at all whatsoever in offering my respects to His Holiness Jayapa Takamaharaj, whom I have known since 1976. When I first met him in Māyāpur, I told the story before. Many times I had to deal with him and also Babananda Maharaj.

At that time, we brought one devotee from Atlanta, one Jaggedas, and the temple president put me in charge Of Jagga said, don’t let Jayat Maharaj keep him in my world. So then Maharaj called me and said, oh, you’re Bhagavadra. I said, yes, Harness. We want to keep juggling India.

Okay.

How can you resist such potency? So I am very impressed on many levels. As I was saying, on the level of his sacrifice, that’s very impressive because I have personally seen it. I have watched him very closely. In fact, I studied Amhari very closely. How he organizes, how he manages, how he shows mercy to devotees, sometimes also shows a little fire to devotees to help them advance in spiritual life. And I am very impressed with the consistency. Consistency, how he’s always transmitting the same. Some people are very hard to figure out exactly where they’re coming from, what their intentions are. But I know I am very convinced that his intentions are all Kṛṣṇa conscious.

So devotees can have 100% faith in him that if he orders you to do something or encourages you to do something, you can know this is coming from Kṛṣṇa because that’s what the Shastras say, isn’t it? Shaksha. He’s Kṛṣṇa, manifest as a spiritual master. Spiritual master doesn’t claim to be Christian. One time the devotees were trying to. They concluded that Prabhupāda must be Christian because Prabhupāda listened, because like that, so he must be Christian. So at that time, Prabhupāda was disturbed with the devotees who said that. I think it was 4 Sannyasis who started preaching like that and probably kicked them out of the movement. So the spiritual master doesn’t claim to be God, but he’s a representative of God. So when he speaks, God is speaking through the spiritual master. So the disciple has to meditate in that way.

Should not underestimate the position of the guru. As we read during the Vyansakuja, the spiritual master appears in an infinity of forms. Spiritual master is one, but he comes in numerous forms as the different representatives. So his Holiness Jaguar Devonage, in my opinion, which maybe is not so valuable, but in my personal opinion, is a very qualified spiritual master as well as very qualified and sincere Sannyāsī for many years. Some disciple here knows how many years he’s been sanyasi.

Yes. He’s 71.

Huh?

70 Years. 70 Years.

69.

20 Years. 21 Years. That practically says it all. So as a very sincere, dedicated, as a decided, as a humble resident of Śrīla Māyāpur, Śrīla Mah, staying there, helping us by establishing Māyāpur. For most of us, it’s too difficult to live in England. Too many mosquitoes, too much hardship, too many problems. Can’t understand the language. People are hard to deal with. But he stayed there on behalf of the movement. We’re very thankful for that. And he’s remained very steadily in his service to Śrīla Prabhupāda. And now as a spiritual master since 19 when 77. Spiritual master since.

78.

77. From that time serving the movement, serving all of us. And so how can we not be thankful and happy hesitate to give praise to such a personality? So I am very honored to have the opportunity in his presence to offer some respect. And I pray above his feet to give encouragement to me so I can go in and serve Śrīla Prabhupāda. And I pray to Śrīla Prabhupāda that I can carry out his last instruction which was to cooperate. The test of the love of Prabhupāda’s disciples and followers can be and how well we can cooperate. So I tried my humble best to cooperate with his Holiness Jswami. And by his mercy we saw how we’re making start up with my humble basis is at his Lord’s feet.

It.

At Merari. Your disciples also arranged a very nice. Very nice feast. One of the best feasts of all time.

Actually.

I remember I wasn’t there during the day, but I was. I was out somewhere. I can’t even remember where I was. But for some reason I was hurrying back to Marari that day. It was unusual too. Beginning of the week, was it on.

Monday, Tuesday, something like that? Yeah.

So it wasn’t normal. Usually I would be leaving Mari to go out but I was coming back, so I. But I didn’t remember. I didn’t remember that the ecodesi after the. How is it the ecodesy after Rhom Gnomi is the observance. So I didn’t.

No rhom.

Yeah, rhomi nicodicy. So I had forgotten the usual state.

So.

But it was a pleasant surprise, right? When I got there, the ceremony was beginning. So that evening I.

How many feast they have.

One big feast at the end of the day.

One big study.

This was a mother feast.

Did you tell people that this is an occasion. This is an occasion for real, you know, real feast.

How did you disturb 108.

Preparation? Incredible. Well, that night I spent.

Because I was just off, you know, I just.

I had no time to think. But I was. So I came up.

What did I say?

I said words cannot express. Words cannot express the emotion or the feelings that I have when I think of Jaipataka Mahārāja Swami. But then I thought for a minute and I said actually words do express. The Vedic literature is full of words and actions of the spiritual master, the importance of the spiritual master in the transmission of true perfect knowledge. And so I corrected myself and pretty much with your permission I’d just like to read a couple of things here. This supreme science was thus received through the chain of disciples accession and the saintly kings understood it in that way. But in course of time the succession was broken and therefore the science as it is appears to be laws purported by Śrīla Prabhupāda.

It is clearly stated that the Gītā was especially meant for the saintly kings because they were to execute his purpose in ruling over the citizens. Certainly Bhagavad Gītā was never meant for the demoniac persons, but who would dissipate its value for no one’s benefit and would devise all types of interpretations according to personal whims. As soon as the original purpose was scattered by the motives of the unscrupulous commentators, there arose the need to re establish the disciples accession. 5000 Years ago it was detected by the Lord himself that the discipling succession was broken and therefore he declared that the purpose of the Gītā appeared to be lost in the same way. At the present moment also there are some many editions of the Gītā, especially in English, but almost all of them are not according to authorized disciplic succession.

There are innumerable interpretations written by different mundane scholars, but almost all of them do not accept the supreme personality of God and Kṛṣṇa although they make a good business on the words of Śrī Kṛṣṇa. This spirit is demonic because demons do not believe in God but simply enjoy the property of the supreme. Since there is a great need of an addition of the Gītā in English and as it is received by the Paramparā disciplic succession system, an attempt is made herewith to fulfill this great want. Bhagavad Gītā accepted as it is a great boon to humanity. But if it is accepted as a treatise of philosophical speculations, it is simply a waste of time and Tadvidi panipatina pari pasni nasevaya upadev chantite jnanam janinas tattvadarshina. Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master.

Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. The self realized souls can impart knowledge unto you because they have seen the truth. The path of spiritual realization is undoubtedly difficult The Lord therefore advises us to approach a bona fide spiritual master in the line of disciple succession from the Lord Himself. No one can be a bona fide spiritual master without following this principle of disciple succession. The Lord is the original spiritual master and a person in the disciple of succession can convey the message of the Lord as it is to his disciple. No one can be spiritually realized by manufacturing his own process as is the fashion of the foolish pretenders. The Bhāgavatam 6319 says Dharmam tu sakshat Bhagavat pranitam. The path of religion is directly enunciated by the Lord.

Therefore, mental speculation or dry arguments cannot help lead one to the right path. Nor by independent study of books of knowledge can one progress in spiritual life. One has to approach a bona fide spiritual master to receive the knowledge. Such a spiritual master should be accepted in full surrender and one should serve the spiritual master like a menial servant without false prestige. Satisfaction of the self realized spiritual master is the secret of advancement in spiritual life. Inquiries and submission constitute the proper combination for spiritual understanding. Unless there is submission and service, inquiries from the learned spiritual master will not be effective. One must be able to pass the test to the spiritual master and when he sees the genuine desire of the disciple, he automatically blesses the disciple with genuine spiritual understanding. In this verse, both blind following and absurd inquiries are condemned.

Not only should one hear submissively from the spiritual master, but one must also get a clear understanding from him in submission and service and inquiries. A bona fide spiritual master is by nature very kind toward the disciple. Therefore, when the student is submissive and is always ready to render service, the reciprocation of knowledge and inquiries becomes perfect. So I can echo Baba Badra Prabhu’s eloquent statement. Specifically I had. I have also had practically. That point about no privacy. This supreme sacrifice of one’s total existence for the service of one’s spiritual master. Taking the relationship with the spiritual master very seriously is the most serious thing in life, the only thing in life. And I have to my capacity. I have been inspired by His Holiness Chakra Takaswami’s surrender to Śrīla Prabhupda.

And I have for almost a decade now been blessed by Śrīla Prabhupda with Takamaraja’s association. And I take it that Śrīla Prabhupāda has blessed me in this way that I can somehow render service to him by having the example and being having some opportunity to be trained by Shacharipatim thank you.

Thank you very much. Delivering quotations from Bhagavad Gītā national request Sudarshana Prabhu was initiated in the Paramata Gori Sampraday and on the appearance of Nitananda Prabhu in 1978 79. So. So can you please.

Do not matter. On the very auspicious day of my beloved spiritual master’s appearance I like to say something after long days I got caught to speak again because always I am in love. I try our I feel I don’t know this shy or something like that just comes before I am long time back I used to always come forward and say very boldly when after that I was feeling something so devotee used to go and look for me Go get it. Where is it coming from? Same my approach is happening. So after a long time I thought the opportunity again. But though I am not qualified there is a different size that way we can see to our spiritual master and to know him. Spiritual master is directly representing to Kṛṣṇa through the discipline system.

And.

Since I mean when you join in the movement in the beginning, I mean I grew up that is small town which is commanded by the communist people. They always focused on this. They say okay, this ISKCON is like they preached me about the bodily platform of life and they told me this is con is a totally CIA this and that don’t go to the this mission we’re going go to. If you really want to miss you have to go to Ramakṛṣṇa Mission. So but before joining Ishkan I really went to Ramakṛṣṇa Mission. And then when I saw all the activities they said there is no difference Only that the saffron cloth is the difference. Everything is the same what the materialistic people are doing there. So I got frustrated, I didn’t like it so I came back.

But those like people went there and brought me back. So there was one ad in the newspaper I saw that was also Śrī Lashipad. He planned this how to get nice students to join in iskcon. So there was ad in a newspaper. It’s like a interested student. We are looking for a nice interested student who wants to preach all around the world and this and that. So I saw that and then directly I came to Calcutta temple There was a secretary of Sarvoha Mona Prabhu. So he’s one of also old disciples of Sardopad. So I spoke to him, he said yeah, but that time I was doing some. I was related with some international club founded in Australia. I was a President in that particular that year. So I said how can I do this?

But I was operating all the banks and all this. He said, you can resign and just come out. So I left my home at 2:00 midnight and then came to Māyāpur. And then I met my Guru Maharslachirupad. And then I think I had a little discussion and then I found myself with another devotees who is a Swaneshin of Bhukti Purushottamsham. So both we got in the same room and then everybody was to say Buddhist look at this. Too skinny Devotee join this now in a Manipur. So So we used to stay together but we got blessed by Slash. Then after that Slasheva took us to Shonkitan party. We had an interview in Calcutta and we passed that interview as what I said before.

And then we came to Baldwan district and Shilrajupad was standing on the main road and teaching us how to distribute books. So whole day I distributed only one book and collected one rupee only got it. Then at the end at night Śrī Lachabat used to give us class. I mean when you come back all the people is taking Pusha and there’s a small class. Then he said like look at that he collected one rupee. Nobody collected ever before this thing. I thought I did really very big.

It’s true I think.

So I got encouraged like Ashima could say oh no, the whole day he didn’t do nothing. But he didn’t say that. He said my God, he collected so much nobody can ever. I didn’t wouldn’t collect this much even on Aja. So I was really. But in these days running I am passing by in due course of time. When he came to South India in Hyderabad I used to collect every day 300 or 400 of me and Mutable Shirtha Maharaj. Then I was thinking it’s like this is called the spiritual master. How is setting up the example? How is increasing the devotees paid to Purva and Kṛṣṇa? Kṛṣṇa. So like this the story goes on. Then also other side I see the spiritual master I went to undisputed relationship. It’s like as a child he’s always concerned about that. How like disciple is living.

He’s always thinking about that. So what happened? I was in charge of the Māyāpur security department. And then we heard noise that Daco attacked Māyāpur. So I took that our Nepali darwans to on the field I. I had a small tent, I think and they had all sticks. I had a small stick also. I Was skinny. But I am bored in that sense. So I ran through the field, this and that. We chased them. We couldn’t find to nobody because it’s too dark. But after a long time fellowship I bought a lot of lights, big lights, Halloween lights in Māyāpur. It improved them. But that time was nothing. We had a torch light and was screaming this. And when were coming back then Swarvarmanapuru Bhu was there and he was screaming decoration coming. Look at that, they’re tanging the door.

But we are coming back. And Śrīla Chabad was on top of the rooftop and Adiruddhu, this Ranadi Buddha is in Los Angeles now. So he was focusing live on Arachivar.

I think having.

I think the gun, I think Adil one of them. So then were coming back with the license gun and were almost going to shoot us then. Then he said, no, look at that, Sudarshan is coming. We’re all skinny and it’s like all they are muddy, everything whole body looks like we’re all dacoids. I got saved, you know. Then I said, why did you go like this? Risk your life like that? Don’t go like that, you know. So I was like, I felt like it’s like another feeling. It’s like how Śrīju master is thinking, you know, protecting to his disciples. So also I saw like a Guru Maharaj. Like how he relates to the local villages during the flood time. Like every people think whenever it’s like a. He goes to Māyāpur, he becomes like a Māyāpur. Yeah. When he goes to Bihar.

When he goes to Odisha, he goes wherever he goes. He becomes like a one of the part they think he belongs to me. He’s like, he’s one of us. And actually Guruma speaks to their language also. Either partly or poorly. One of that I was amazed when I first came to my pool. I used to read before Guru Maharaj at night time when I messaged him. Then I would say, you read the books. Let me hear. So I used to read books before Guru Maharaj and say, what is the meaning of that? That time we are speaking up all the language. But what the Bengali Guru Masj knows now I do not know. Because he knows all that book. You must know critical. I mean all technical world, all these things. We do not use that. I mean Islam part.

I mean I have been anything else. And we, I mean we do not know those. We don’t use those terms. So the story shall be Guru Mast picker. Everything like I was thinking like how is that? How you know, so spiritual master is like. I mean, so then when I came, when I first I came to America, then I. I came back to my hometown. And then like it got really rainous, right? They put some machine and this and that. So I said nothing happened to that. So though I traveled with Guru Maharaj, I saw like how the devotees had, you know, I mean that time I was interested like how the devotees in western world are preaching. So I got the opportunity and then I got selected. So I traveled in Mojul, Achiopath and America, this and that.

So I saw that, you know, how groom are this? I mean, he don’t. He doesn’t feel any tired. Only the devotees who trouble sweet him, they. They becomes like a blackout, the whole thing. They say, oh my God, no more energy finish. But Guru was running like thousand kilometers per hour more than that. And we cannot compete that it’s fact I became secondary. Whoever became secondary afterwards, oh my God. But still it’s going on, but we are running, we are like sitting behind, you know, so much to do. So then again I heard that when he got attacked and then in his prayer to Prabhupāda and to Kṛṣṇa, he said like he couldn’t fulfill that Śrīla Prabhupāda’s order or dream or whatever, his order to build up Śrīdhar Māyāpur big city. And so, and so all these things.

So then I realized this is called the commitment to spiritual master. To his spiritual master and still his constant. Like the person who is about to leave his bodies like so critical condition was thinking plain, like how I can serve. I could not fulfill that the promise I gave to you. So please, if I come back then I have to complete this thing. Give me one more chance, opportunity. So in that regard then when we feel ourselves, what platform we are now. I mean, we are so much gross mentality. We are living ourselves thinking about our own compost everything and simply becoming burdened to our spiritual master. So in this auspicious eve, we should be more careful about our devotional life and try to serve more. So I hope it is long night.

I would request all the disciples to make the talk too short because we have programs to and maximum will suggest three to five minutes for each person. So next I would request Kṛṣṇa Chandra to come forward and speak.

Everybody, it’s just good to see you again after so many years. Actually it’s been that many years, but it seemed as though odyssey after odyssey, I am back again at your lowest feet. Always you’re forgiving and most merciful in every way. I can remember first odyssey was from LA to India. Had sort of a stop off in.

Kabul.

With Prohibitioner song. Well, actually I had one ahead, Turkey. They waited in the border in Turkey and I had sort of a fall down in Kabul with some controlled substances like that or whatever. But anyway, I was fortunate enough to get mercy after arriving india at that point. And then again another Odyssey type deal. After leaving India from la, again from LA to Kentucky, we have some problems.

It.

(Side B of the Cassette)

New York and you were very merciful to me. And then again now after this, well, I came up six years leaving Atlanta, another odyssey from LA to South America, et cetera. Things have shaped up a lot insofar as my spiritual life is concerned. Association with Baba Ledger, some mercy from Balabhadra here over the past few weeks has been very helpful too. But I am very thankful for association that you have given me in the past. And I look forward to having your association more in the future. I intended to read a. It was our 1987.

No,.

The book right there. Yeah, it was our 1987 offering,.

Which.

Is actually quite, quite significant because. Well, I guess I won’t read that one, but maybe you can read it later if you have a copy.

This one.

But it’s sort of interesting because it’s sort of. I said in there that you were the. You’re a guru, deva devotee maker like that. You’re our best friend now and you will be our best friend later, you know, something like that. And you know, it’s turned out that way in every way. You were, you were a best friend. Even after so much that myself and my wife Ramya have been through. Insofar as just trying to maintain some degree of a Kṛṣṇa consciousness concern, you remain very dear to us. And I just want to thank you and let you know that always respect and reverie for all the mercy that you have shown us.

It was sort of difficult for me to have respect to any kind of spiritual authority like that because I thought I knew everything and you were, you know, big and husky kind of fellow. Again, keep me in line. So that was very helpful to my spiritual life and I just want to thank you for that and let you know how glad I am to receive you again. No, this is the life.

Next I would request Sharad Rishabhu to come forward and speak.

It.

First I give myself a spiritual master and after that I think my hunger and my overall. I don’t speak very good English. Don’t try to do it. I remember that I came Mypur in 1979 and after 10 months I got multiple meditation master and he all time trying to before get initiated. He all time trying to approach me to preach about Kṛṣṇa and that way I got his mercy to go to the village to village with integral Maharaj is the leader. I go different country and visiting different people and try to say something. Later I got mercy to come to the state that way he is all time approaching Me improve my divisional life. He has so much mercy. He is giving his mercy to everyone.

I remember one story from the Chaitanya Chaitan misses that when Chaitanya Mahāprabhu, he is a Ghana poet with Nithyanand Allah the disciple Satan he gave peace of mercy peace of Lord Sunithyananda Prabhupāda to go to the Bengal and give his mercy to all fallen souls. The same way Prabhupāda he gave his special mercy to my spiritual master came to the Bengal and gave his oaths to mercy to all foreign people in Bengal. He’s giving his mercies like rain. He’s giving his mercy everyone. That’s like a rain when raining rain. Don’t think that there is rich people house and this is poor people house. I am not going to give my rain here. I am not going to give rain there. His rain is giving every rain is everywhere Same way he’s giving his mercy to everyone. My dear, my spiritual master, my Guru Maharaj.

You give your mercy to everyone and give your mercy for me. Give your mercy for me. Then I can improve my spiritual life.

Next I would request go Puraju come.

Forward and speak on.

I know he has written a wonderful poem in praise of Shah which he has written recited last 13.

That was a wonderful poem.

So I hope he will be reciting it today.

Just in order to be brief, certainly I would like to just say one thing.

First.

Coming in contact through the problem of God’s books in a short while I could see the necessity. And also I became a bit enthusiastic to actually get initiation. And then somehow other I got. I don’t remember the particular issue but I started reading the BTG also and it dawned on me that Śrīla Prabhupāda was off the planet. And I was very set back by this. And then shortly after I had the fortune to start associating with devotees. And then I learned that Rla Prabhupda had certain of his very close disciples that he had designated to continue initiation. And once again I became blinded and.

And.

Well, it’s another long story but somehow or other I wound up here in Atlanta and had the great fortune to meet Rlacharya Bhag. And he actually gave me shelter. Interest of time. I will just try to read this. For the appearance day of his holiness Jaya Bhagava Swami Charyapa. I offer my respectful obeisances unto my spiritual master, the deliverer of the fallen souls. His mercy turns the dumb into eloquent speakers. And enables the lame to cross mountains. Very beautiful verse. Certainly this is a fact. For how else could one such as myself, prone to the insignificant battle of the false ego, make an attempt to give some homage to Gurudev on this most auspicious day?

And how could anyone in such a corporal cage which is lame and inert by nature, attempt to cross the insurmountable mountains of Nessians that comprise this material world without the mercy of Guru Śrīdharyabad? Please accept this humble attempt of a poem in your honor. The demeanor of Guru is humble and meek A servant of the servant at his preceptor’s feet for prestige and adoration he holds no claim Sheltering no independence, he clings to the name. Fearless and bold is his endeavor. For Hari, Expert and sober are his natural quality his position the envious often try to minimize Finding fault where there is none Their love is to criticize. Undaunted by duality he serves friend and enemy Steadfast in reality of ever blissful eternity no need to speculate, no argument can disclaim. Kṛṣṇa declares he and Acharya are worshipped one and the same.

Free from false pride and the demands of the tongue he shows by example how the highest service is done. All scriptures conclude his most exalted position by great sages he’s honored the most lofty erudition. I am simply a beggar at my master’s unlimited store. Obtaining a drop of that mercy one requires nothing more to become a meager slave at your holy lotus feet in some useful service will make my life complete. Without this benediction I will eternally be lost. So kindly keep engaged your servant Govraj Das all glorious.

It.

Know that I can try to glorify him. Today is very auspicious day for the disciple and the holy wizards. That Silas came to this metal world to spread Kṛṣṇa consciousness and at the same time he’s given mercy to us and dark ended suicide. But actually Śrī Lanka was taking so much responsible which is Śrī Lankan. At present day. We can see Silas covering 1.2 and one country to another country day and night. We can see that he doesn’t have enough rest. But he’s trying to play Śrīracha and not check in a markable. This is our responsibility that we should always try to help assist how we can do much more preaching how we can help Śrī La Chakra and in this way we can be much more engaged and also inspire and become nice devoted.

But some other sometimes is not effective to our ignorance Live to Hilujam to go a little Far away. But we always pray to Śrīla Tabat to bestow his mercy to us that we can be and give rest of our life of the world that he can guide us. And you’re going to love it.

Thank.

You.

It.

Nav. In all over. In battalion. Whatever we have been able to hear from the dispersal matter and whatever we give resemble. I can’t pronounce the word. Okay. We give now this vision writing incarnation of over believe Spiritual master. There are two things.

Two things.

Protest and of over. There is no such thing because we are internal. This is the first teaching of Kṛṣṇa in the Bhagavad Gītā. Never was there what I did not excite. Not give not you nor all this change not in the future. A self ending of us a cause to be. Huh? Cease to be harbored without you don’t have to culture your humble servant.

All right.

Now I see Galu waiting in line when he was off the track. Yes, he was in the track, but he went out. He missed your chance same so. But according to we going according to the seniority and initiation. So that way another.

Foreign.

I would like to. I would like to wish my heartfelt gratitude and the fortune of me being one of your disciples. I have no qualifications. I have no qualification to be counted as one of your disciples. And I only ascertain that it is your unfathomable mercy that it is so. I wish my gratitude with your constant prayers, O Lord Kṛṣṇa, for the advancement and welfare of your disciples. Without which I certainly would not have made any advancement in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Please make me realize that. Please make me realize that your mercy is all that I am made of. All I can do is to beg at Yiboji’s feet forgiveness for my offenses and hope that one day I can be a useful instrument. Your hand.

So this year Kṛṣṇa Guru Kṛṣṇa finally caught me somehow or other when there was a previous. Yes Buddhist Smyrna. Some other was somewhere else and couldn’t say anything even though I had many things.

Perry.

I was going to say. It says that disciples should be. I feel like a fool for the spiritual master. So tonight I am here. But I don’t want to get into all my demonia qualities. So. Or who I am. It’s amazing I am still here on this day. We should think about some of the nice and amazing qualities of our spiritual master. And how maybe we could imbibe these in ourselves even just like a molecule of those qualities. And we can actually be of some use to our spiritual master. One thing that’s always struck me about Śrīla Charyadman and has always brought me to his lotus feet to devotional service. Even if I tried many times to go away and the offensive rascal I am, even when I have argued with him that I was going to leave some other, I’d come back.

This is great spiritual enthusiasm. It’s like a spiritual magnet. Many times I said, okay, well, I have done so much. So now this time when he comes, I will just kind of stay on the outside and just come to like share and mind my own business. But as soon as he comes, immediately, even if I am saying one thing, my body’s going the other way. So my soul is going to be father. So this is the quality of Śrī Charaipa sir, seeing the devotees all over the world. Since I have had the great fortune still to understand how and why it’s inconceivable I was able to travel with Śrīla Charipad in different parts of the world. But I have seen that the devotees are just so. It’s like everyone comes to life again. Śrīl Charipada comes now and very enthusiastic.

And the other one quality is that he’s very though of his position is at least for myself, I can understand because of course, Śrīla Prabhupāda said that familiarity breeds contempt. And because I have had the great mercy to be able to render personal service to him and be with him many times, many days on end that I may have tried to my materialistic calculation try to understand who is Śrī a Charipant. But because by the mercy of all his disciples and the Vaishnavas, I can understand. Actually, I don’t know because everyone offers such wonderful service and praise and devotion. And I see that actually there’s nothing there in my heart. So I understand that I have a lot to go for. I can understand. But despite his inconceivable position, he’s very personal in a very transcendental way.

No matter from my personal experience, no matter what I have done, where I have been, he’s always very personal. Just a few months ago, some of this rumor had gotten all the way to India. This guy’s very good, getting messages that maybe I’d left or something happened to me. And so I remember that night he was. I was just minding my own line of business. And the call kept coming from India about four or five times. And finally I think it was the second day, also second night. And finally Shacharipa. And I heard his chancellor voice. And he said, oh, so how are you doing? And it was like, just like the father asked him, how are you doing? What’s going on? And he said, I heard this and that, and you’re not no longer doing this? I said, no, I am still here.

He said, okay, that’s where you are. He said, you haven’t sent me any message or anything. It’s a long time. Maybe you could send me some. So that was very. And then after that phone call, I realized that actually it made me realize the commitment I made, since Charipada is very dedicated and serious about all those commitments. And that since he’s actually going to take me back to Godhead, so kind of reminded me that I should maybe get it together and try to do some service with śrīlacharipa. So anyways, take me out of time over here. So I don’t want the white cane in any way, but in that way, there’s so many other qualities of śrīla charipad. And maybe if every day we can think a little bit about it, then we can get some enthusiasm in our own traditional service.

So charipad ki.
