Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Book Compilation

The following is a Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Book Compilation given by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on July1st, 2021 in Sri Dhama Mayapur, India.

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam
paramānandaṁ mādhavaṁ śrī caitanya iśvaram

Hariḥ oṁ tat sat!

Hare Kṛṣṇa! Dear Devotees! Today we will continue with the compilation of Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Book, the chapter entitled:

Kṛṣne Matir Astu Blessing to Those Who Came to the House of Vidyā-vācaspati in Vidyānagara  
Under the Section: The Lord’s Attempt to Go to Vṛndāvana

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.311

vācaspatira naukā saṁgraha— 
satvare āsilā vācaspati mahāśaya
karilena aneka naukāra samuccaya

Translation: When Vidyā-vācaspati suddenly arrived, he made arrangements for many boats to receive these people.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.312

naukāra apekṣā nā kariyāi bahu lokera nadī-uttaraṇa— 
naukāra apekṣā āra keha nāhi kare
nānā mate pāra haya ye ye-mate pāre

Translation: But the people would not wait for the boats and somehow or other crossed the river.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.313

hena ākarṣeṇa mana śrī-caitanya-deve
eho ki īśvara-vine anyeri sambhave?

Translation: Such was the attraction of Lord Śrī Caitanya deva. Is such attraction possible for anyone other than the Supreme Lord?

Jayapatākā Swami: Since the Supreme Lord is full in six opulence and since the name Kṛṣṇa means all-attractive, reservoir of all pleasure, therefore, He was attracting everyone.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.314

sakalera vācaspatira saubhāgya-praśaṁsā o vijñapti— 
hena mate gaṅgā pāra hai' sarva-jana
sabei dharena vācaspatira caraṇa

Translation: In this way everyone crossed the Ganges and grabbed hold of Vidyā-vācaspati's lotus feet.

Jayapatākā Swami: Vidyā-vācaspati was hosting Lord Caitanya. So, all the people in Navadvīpa thought that he was truly blessed, and wanted to get his mercy.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.315

“parama sukṛti tumi mahā-bhāgyavān
yāra ghare āilā caitanya bhagavān

Translation: “You are most pious and most fortunate, for Bhagavān Lord Caitanya has come to your house.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.316

eteke tomāra bhāgya ke balite pare
ekhane nistāra kara āmā'-sabākāre

Translation: “Therefore who can estimate your good fortune? Now please deliver all of us.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.317

bhava-kūpe patita pāpiṣṭha āmi-saba
eka grāme—nājānila tāna anubhava

Translation: “We are sinful and have fallen in the well of material existence. Even though we lived in the same village, we did not understand Lord Caitanya’s glories.

Jayapatākā Swami: So, everyone appreciated Lord Caitanya after He left, they were thinking that how they were so fortunate to have His association, and how because of their sinful activities and offensive nature, they had lost His association and now they are getting it again. So, they are very eager to receive it.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.318

ekhane dekhāo tāna caraṇa-yugala
tabe āmi pāpī saba haiba saphala”

Translation: “Now please show us Lord Caitanya’s two lotus feet, then the lives of us sinners will be successful.”

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.319

lokera ārtidarśane vācaspatira ānanda-krandana— 
dekhiyā lokera ārti vidyā-vācaspati
santoṣe rodana kare vipra mahāmati

Jayapatākā Swami: On hearing the people's pathetic and enthusiastic appeals, Vidyā-vācaspati, the magnanimous brāhmaṇa, cried out of satisfaction.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.320

lokasaṅghasaha vācaspatira nijabhavane praveśa— 
sabā' lai' āilena āpana mandire
lakṣa koṭi loka mahā-hari-dhvani kare

Jayapatākā Swami: As he led everyone to his house, millions of people began the loud chanting of the holy name of Lord Hari.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.321

sarvatra kevala haribola-raba— 
hari-dhvani mātra śuni sabāra vadane
āra vākya keha nāhi bole nāhi śune

Jayapatākā Swami: The name of Lord Hari, Hari Bol! was the only sound that came from everyone's mouth. They neither spoke nor heard anything else.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.322

haridhvani-śravaṇe mahāprabhura bāhire āgamana— 
karuṇā-sāgara prabhu śrī-gaurasundara
sabā' uddhārite haiyāchena gocara

Translation: Lord Śrī Gaurasundara is an ocean of mercy, and He advented to deliver everyone.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.323

hari-dhvani śuni' prabhu parama-santoṣe
hailena bāhira lokera bhāgyavaśe

Translation: When Lord Caitanya heard the vibration of the name of Lord Hari, He was greatly pleased. Feeling obliged by the people's good fortune, He came out of the house.

Jayapatākā Swami: So, when Lord Caitanya heard all the people chanting Hari Bol! By their chanting the holy names, He became very satisfied and He came out of the house, to give His blessings to everyone.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.324

śrī-gaura-rūpa-mādhurya— 
ki se śrī-vigrahera saundarya manohara
se rūpera upamā sei se kalevara

Translation: How sweetly enchanting was Lord Caitanya's beautiful form! His form can be compared only with His own form.

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya's personal weapon was His beauty, He was so beautiful that He melted the heart of anyone who saw Him and thus He attracted the minds of all the conditioned souls.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.325

sarvadāya prasanna śrī-mukha vilakṣaṇa
ānanda-dhārāya pūrṇa dui śrī-nayana

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya’s lotus face was always pleasing, and tears of love flowed from His two lotus eyes.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.326

bhakta-gaṇe lepiyāche śrī-aṅge candana
mālāya pūrṇita vakṣa, gajendra-gamana

Translation: The devotees had smeared sandalwood paste on Lord Caitanya's body. His chest was adorned with flower garlands, and He walked like the king of elephants.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.327

ājānu-lambita dui śrī-bhuja tuliyā
`hari' bali' siṁha-nāda karena garjiyā

Translation: Lord Caitanya raised His two long arms and roared like a lion as He chanted the name of Lord Hari.

Jayapatākā Swami: Hari Bol! Hai Bol!

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.328

sakalera harināme nṛtya, daṇḍavat, stava— 
dekhiyā prabhure catur-dike sarva-loke
‘hari’ bali’ nṛtya sabe karena kautuke

Jayapatākā Swami: When people in all the directions saw Lord Caitanya, they joyfully danced and also chanted the holy name of Lord Hari.

Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare
Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare

and some offered their prostrate obeisances.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.329

daṇḍavat hai' sabe paḍe bhūmi-tale
ānande haiyā magna `hari hari' bale

Translation: They offered prostrate obeisances by falling flat on the ground, and they became absorbed in ecstasy as they chanted the name of Lord Hari.

Jayapatākā Swami: Hari Hari!!

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.330

dui bāhu tuli' sarva-loka stuti kare
“uddhāraha prabhu, āmā'-saba pāpiṣṭhere”

Translation: Everyone raised their two arms and prayed, “O Lord Caitanya, please deliver all of us sinners.”

Jayapatākā Swami: So, everyone took advantage of the Lord’s presence, chanting, dancing, prostrating, they were begging the Lord with their raised hands.

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.331

prabhura “kṛṣṇe matirastu” ei āśīrvāda o kṛṣṇa-bhajane ādeśa— 
īṣat hāsiyā prabhu sarva-loka-prati
āśīrvāda karena "kṛṣṇete hau mati"

Translation: Lord Caitanya slightly smiled as He looked at everyone and blessed them with the words, kṛṣṇe matir astu, May, your minds be fixed on Lord Kṛṣṇa.”

Jayapatākā Swami: So, this was the blessings that Lord Caitanya gave, kṛṣṇe matir astu, “May your mind be always be fixed on Lord Kṛṣṇa and Lord Caitanya’s teachings were very simple but most profound

Caitanya-Bhāgavata Antya-khaṇḍa 3.332

bala kṛṣṇa bhaja kṛṣṇa śuna kṛṣṇa nāma
kṛṣṇa hau sabāra jīvana dhana-prāṇa”

Jayapatākā Swami: “Chant the name of Lord Kṛṣṇa, worship Lord Kṛṣṇa, and hear the names of Lord Krsna. May Lord Kṛṣṇa become your life, wealth, and soul.”

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya’s instruction was to chant Hare Kṛṣṇa and to worship Lord Kṛṣṇa and study His teachings, Bhagavad-gītā and Śrīmad-bhāgavatam. So, these books have been translated by His Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda and his followers, so that people can get the divine Kṛṣṇa’s teachings. So, anyone regardless of caste, creed, race or gender, they can chant Hare Kṛṣṇa and worship Lord Kṛṣṇa, and they can study the teachings of Lord Kṛṣṇa, there is no bar for anyone and there are no hard and fast rules.
