The following is a lecture given by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on July 27, 1981 – in Bangalore, India. The lecture begins with a reading from Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 2.2.29.

By smelling the palate, by tasting vision, by seeing forms touched, by contacting the vibration of the ear, by ethereal identification and the sense organs, by material activities, translation with repetition. The devotee thus surpasses beyond the sky. There are subtle coverings resembling the elementary coverings of the universes. The gross coverings are a development of partial ingredients of the subtle causes. So the yogī or devotee, along with liquidation of the gross elements, relinquishes the subtle causes like aroma, by smelling the pure spiritual spark. Living entity thus becomes completely cleansed of all material contamination to become eligible for entrance into the kingdom of God. Thus, in the purport by his divine grace to the prabhupāda, so the devotee or yogī, at the time of dissolution of the material coverings, a gross and subtle body.

First one gives up to a five gross body, five body of five gross elements, then a subtle body. Is there a mind, intelligence and false ego so even connected? There are so many sensual, subtle sensual attachments and connections which have to also be relinquished in this way. By gradually crossing over all the material obstacles, one is becoming completely free from all type of material coverings, and pure self realization is achieved. So this is performed by the mercy of Kṛṣṇa, by the devotional yogī. Automatically, the other type of yogis may perform these things by their willpower, but the same stages are gone through in the ultimate issue. So people have so many types of coverings. We find that when someone uses his actions, words and thoughts in the service of Kṛṣṇa, that those become transcendental and that person becomes transcendentally situated.

So just like aroma, by smelling palate, by tasting vision, by seeing forms touching, by contacting vibrations of the ear, by ethereal identification the sense organs, by material activities, the devotee, by engaging all of the senses and transcendental activities, purifies his senses. And this way overcomes the bondage of these subtle senses by seeing the forms of the Lord tasting the prasadam offered to Kṛṣṇa, smelling the flowers and incense offered to Kṛṣṇa, touching the devotees and what else? And hearing the chanting and singing of Kṛṣṇa’s bhajans. So here we find in south India that people, they like this process very much. They’re very attractive. Maybe we thought that because they are very philosophically inclined, somehow or another they would be a little bit aloof from practicing. But quite the contrary, we find that they’re very eager to chant Hare Kṛṣṇa, te Kṛṣṇa prasadam.

They’re not having inhibitions to perform in all these type of activities. Actually, in this way, we don’t have much competition as far as Hari Nam Sankirtan is concerned. Practically speaking, there’s no competition because no one else is doing Hari nav Sankirtan very much, at least visibly. We don’t find anyone else doing. And other processes of Ghana and mental speculation and so on. These are so dry that hardly they can attract the Kali yuga soul, hardly they can purify. That is why people, just by chanting for a few minutes in the kīrtana they feel more spiritual advancement than they did studying and speculating for so many years and years. So our secret of success shall be to engage the people and chanting, engage their senses and transcendental activities.

And this way they will easily be able to perceive the transcendental bliss that they were always desiring to have. Everything there is in the Sheikashtaka shloka, everything that theyre desiring, that every step they can taste the nectar. The ocean of transcendental bliss is expanding. Everything is there. The negation of all the forest fire like miseries and difficulties which are coming upon them. Prabhupda just as he said that in the west we should conquer by cultural care, we can simply provide them. The people are already religious but they don’t have any conception of religion which has got the full engagement for all these senses. All these senses should be engaged in a modern day. All these senses are being attracted by the billboards, by the tv, by the radio to engage in sense gratification. But that sense gratification will never satisfy anyone.

Instead it is taking them into deeper and deeper ignorance. So why engaging their senses transcendentally? Rishikena. Rishikesha sevanang bhaktiruchiti. That’s bhakti. Not simply talking about how all type of speculative things, concoctions and so on and more or less trying to establish oneself as being a great devotee. That is not the definition of bhakti that is given here. But that is what generally people think Bhakti means. Rishi, keena. Rishikesha Sevanamdeh. Engaging the senses in the service of the master of the senses. Rishikesha by engaging the senses. So what is our simple process? We engage everyone’s senses. Let their senses be engaged. Let them hear Kṛṣṇa, taste kṛṣṇa, smell Kṛṣṇa, see Kṛṣṇa, think about Kṛṣṇa. In Bangalore so many children were chanting on a regular basis. So we can engage all the people in so many Kṛṣṇa conscious activities. We don’t have any shortage of activities.

Activities are practically unlimited. Simply to engage these people in these activities, that is the greatest process of yogī. So when one practices devotional service, they should know that they dont lose anything. All the pious results that they were going to get, if they studied the vedas, if they performed jaggas, if they did tapasya, if they gave in charity, theyre getting simply by giving their time, their devotion to Kṛṣṇa, they don’t lose anything. And on top of that, yogī parangastaaadyam, they reach the topmost destination. Who can offer a more wonderful alternative? Who can offer so simply we have to allow this message to reach. And if the people, this says in the Bhagavad Gītā that you see more important than knowledge is the practical practicing, because the result of knowledge is one will practice.

So when we get the people to come and practice, then it’s very easy for them to realize. And the next stage is to get them to do it regularly. It should be unbroken. They’re doing, then they’re going out and doing like we said, Hatisnan bathing of elephant. If we get them at least to do a minimum every day, then what will happen? That will be very easy for them to taste and realize Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Once a person can realize his spiritual advancement, his spiritual realization, then he will become very appreciative, and the door will open into so much spiritual realization and further advancement. So goal of all the yogas is the same, to cross over this material attachments and to realize the pure soul, which is part of the supreme spirit, the supreme soul, Śrī Kṛṣṇa Gola is the same.

But in this KALI yuga, this is the only practical process which will work, that we can see that people immediately they’re taking to it. So all of you are preaching right nicely here in South India. You should take it very enthusiastically, because there is a great need, there’s a great need. And Māyā always tries to put up so many obstacles. We should see that the need is there and the want is there, and the people they are eagerly taking. So then where is the problem? Simply we have to accept some little inconvenience sometimes. Exactly what inconvenience I can say. But inconvenience may be there mentally, physically, because this material world means inconvenience. So when we are preaching Kṛṣṇa consciousness also, there may be some inconvenience. But practically speaking, what is that?

Inconvenience is insignificant, especially in face of the great task ahead and the wonderful results which we are achieving. So take this opportunity to help others to advance in their Kṛṣṇa consciousness. For that Kṛṣṇa will never forget. He will help you so many times more because you are helping others. Thank you very much.

Hare Kṛṣṇa. Hare Kṛṣṇa.

Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Hare.

Hare Ram.

Hari Ram.

Ram.

Ram Hare. You want to get rid of Māyā.

The other day you told me that you can live in Susan and have everything. But that is speaking to me like anything. I have no explanation for that.

What is sticking to you, Māyā?

That all problems of life.

So you should take the opportunity to yourself. Cling to Kṛṣṇa. Cling to the lotus feet of Caitanya, Mahāprabhu and Nithyananda. This Māyā is always there to cling. It’s just like a shadow. When we look to Kṛṣṇa, then we don’t see the shadow. When we look away from the sun, then we see shadow. As long as we’re looking to the sun, is there any shadow visible? Only when we look away. So you will see. As soon as you’re looking away from Kṛṣṇa, then you will see the Māyā. So you have to be calm. That’s why I am saying that by practice you have to learn to look to Kṛṣṇa. And then you will be able to see that even the Māyā is under Kṛṣṇa’s control. If you can engage what appears to be Māyā, if that can be engaged in Kṛṣṇa service, somehow we have to.

Instruct our guide or some work we have to attend. Something sometimes happens somebody does wrong, then I immediately lose temper also. That is another difficulty.

You are your self employed.

I have some south indian advice.

You are self employed mean you are your own. You are having your own business and so many people are employing. All right. So you just give your business to Kṛṣṇa and you become the employee. Then you won’t have to worry with that consciousness. You that all right. I have given him the hand of Kṛṣṇa. Now how to carry out so that the business will be. He gets the maximum profit.

Also creates a lot of unsteadiness. He disturbed heavily though I could try to concert and I, as you told me, you chant one mālā. I am doing that. Hare Kṛṣṇa. Hare Rāma haram hare.

Every time we are starting to this material world is Dukalaya Aswatham. You should be able to understand that every step there’s so many dangers, so much difficulty. So therefore somehow another we make the best use of a bad bargain. This material world is a bad bargain. Even we have make so many plans to enjoy. Yet Māyā is so strong that all our plans turn into distress. So then you should take this distress to goad you on, to push you on, to prepare yourself for finally going back to Kṛṣṇa. It’s not that this material world can never be made into the perfect place. Because each person has got his own mind how to enjoy his own senses. Only the spiritual world. Everyone has got the mind for how to give Kṛṣṇa a pleasure.

Therefore, there is no competition in the sense of any type of this clashes. Everything is harmonious because everyone is trying to please the same person. But workers, he wants his own satisfaction. Even in the family, the children, the wife, the mother, the father, each has got slightly different idea what will make him happy. So it’s very hard to make everything exactly fit. Just like a net, there’s some clashes are there? Because someone is thinking that this is not for my profit, for my sense gratification, this is not for my interest. So only if one can create a collective interest in the family, then. But that’s very difficult. But when people peg the interest of Kṛṣṇa, what is ultimately pleasing to Kṛṣṇa, then everything can be coordinated. But that is also not possible overnight. For so many years and days and months and lifetimes.

People are simply working for their own interests, which is a perverted interest, which is not the correct interest. It is an illusion of interests. So to suddenly transfer to their real self interest, their Kṛṣṇa conscious interest, that requires some great spiritual realization and strength. So from your part you should take all these trials to give you impetus to further and further attach yourself to Kṛṣṇa, who will give you inner strength to attach yourself to the path of this Kṛṣṇa consciousness.

Last few days, sir, we are not doing any Samoa Kritan in our family. We are continuing now. Everybody wants to go to bed early. And they come like a late from office and all that disturbs them. They say it is too late to enjoy that. If they dont sit together early. That also is a problem because I feel very much and that is not done.

So have early in the morning is even better. What time? So have it early in the morning. Six, seven.

Somewhere I have to adjust.

Human life is meant for a little bit of tapasya, for higher purpose. Suddenly you have to catch the early mail to Delhi. Everyone will get up. So you have to catch the mail back to Vaikuṇṭha. For that. If you get up a little early, half hour to chant 15 minutes, a half hour. You see, if one or two people, if they just do it anyway, then gradually the others, one by one, they will be attracted and they will also come. That is because you see Achajam, that whatever the great men do, the common men follow one should practice. And that practice is greater than even the speaking. And then automatically the sincere people. There will be a few hard nuts, difficult to crack. But though kids and others, they will definitely come easy.

And then gradually, one by one, everyone will be overcome by the determination, because they will see that they’re getting some happiness.

Another problem is that the standard and Saturday pictures are shown. How much interest in that.

We have our own ISKCON videos that we could arrange in the future. If you have a video machine, we can get those tapes from Los Angeles. So already in the west, people are fed up with tv. They don’t watch. They’re reduced a lot because they call it idiot tube. You watch it, you become simply idiot. So much garbage, they just want. But here, it’s a brand new thing. So probably said that new crows, that crows are eating all type of garbage. But old crow, he won’t eat every garbage. He’s already lost. He’s got a higher taste for garbage. He’s particular about what garbage he will eat. But a brand new crow, he will eat anything. So like that. In India, these are all the new things come from the west immediately. Everybody, they have great appetite. But in the west, they’re already fed up to here.

Because so much violence, so much crime, so much. They see that the children, by watching all this tv, they become from bad to worse. So now they don’t even want. So now the most popular thing, everyone has their own this tape, video tape players. And they’re only watching particular shows that they like. That’s why we have ISKCON television network. And by cable tv as well as by tapes, we have our own shows. So for those who are interested, then we have that system. Otherwise, there you see violence. Better to see violence with Ramchandra killing Rawan. But the violence they’re showing, they glorify the dacoits only. So, only as a result, now in England, eleven year old boys, they are shooting firebombs at the police. That is coming indian Express here in Madras and Hindu also. Why? Because they’re seeing all this on tv.

So they’re learning.

Hare Kṛṣṇa.

How is that.

Baby dream? Voyatrava, Samitopi, Sadhguriya, Navistaram, Sadh, Gracia, Bhakti, Vidanta, Swami prabhupāda kihe. During the period, for offering oblations to the demigods, one should invite only two brahmanas.

And while offering oblations to the forefathers.

1 may invite three brahmanas. Or in either case, only one Brāhmaṇa will suffice. Even though one is very opulent, he.

Should not endeavor to invite more brahmanas or make various expensive arrangements on those occasions. Thus in the translation by Śrīla Prabhupāda.

Gone Dubramane Parjanto Nimantan korawuchit evang Shradhe somai tin brāhmaṇa hotapare tabe uboy puristitite ag brahmano hole habevere jadiyo Aks and Kup oy soria punya puna dhani hoy taholo say pochesta kora uchitnai besi Brahman K Nimantan kora atova bahu dami Babastar Seisab Anushtanakal Korajanhe Purport by Śrīla.

Prabhupda as we have already mentioned, Rla.

Advaita Acharya during the generally observed ceremony.

To offer oblations to the forefathers invited only Haridas Thakur.

Thus he followed this principle. The Lord says to quote it is.

Not necessary that one be very expert.

In vain acknowledge before he can become my bhakta or devotee. Even one is born in a family of dog eaters. He can become my devotee and be.

Very dear to me in spite of having taken birth in such a family.

Therefore, offerings should be given to my devotee and whatever my devotee has offered.

To me should be accepted.

Following this principle, one should invite a first class brāhmaṇa or vaishnava, a realized.

Soul, and feed him while observing the srādhā ceremony to offer blessings to one’s forefathers.

Many nichols Prabhu Boland jadi Kyo Amon.

Seven of the Seema Bhāgavata down so.

Here we can see how important this eating process is. Not only eating affects our consciousness, but.

It is a method of purification for the person feeding. Ekane kawa bishoy amara malawandapur agdiki amade kawa amada nijay parke on a mulawan bhaparachi tai chara jake boysna brahman ganki kawai taki he was always the first principle. Very insistent upon devotees. Should take simply Kaprasada prabhupāda.

Joy detained.

Kṛṣṇa prasad kawa puchit without taking Kṛṣṇa prasadam how can we purify the tongue.

Which is the strongest of all the senses? Therefore how we can purify the mind?

Amriti Kṛṣṇa prasadam nakay tale ji kore sasan karajave so this is very important what we eat.

In America there’s one.

Book that you are what you eat. Amelia actor boy amni chabis tummy jakaide.

Say to me.

Jeetumikai say to me.

You are what you eat.

Say, if he eats a rotten food, he also becomes a crazy. Sadri pocha kadokai. If he very hot, spicy, excessively hot.

Food, then there is a mode of passion.

Savory bijod jal nunta masala ponnur torkariba kadokai rajaguna sampan and if one takes fruit, vegetables, milk, things very juicy and.

Freshen fresh descendant amount of goodness.

Ajay fal moon jaisal fal rasa chay dud fal anna sattvun so kṛṣṇa, he only takes food in the mode of goodness. Bhagavān sikṛṣṇa jaisab kardo satugunayache say jedi una kache bhakto nivedan korean kore so when we offer to Kṛṣṇa and take his prushat, then it becomes transcendental. No longer simply satyaguna, that becomes chinmaya Bhagavasi kṛṣṇa kache bog nivedan karapuri sewochi chinmay a prakito so if someone.

Is traveling, then sometimes in emergency one can.

Take some fried food. Gi rana kisuke tapari. But as far as possible, one should simply associate with devotees, eat Kṛṣṇa prasana and avoid all type of distractions. The.

Exception may be there for traveling. But then one shouldn’t take it that every day I can make some exception.

Actu niyam taktu khalk brahman korasamai jatra.

Samaydeh.

We pray that the tongue.

Is.

The most difficult of all the senses to overcome. And that is overcome by tasting Kṛṣṇa prasad in Africa. Śrīla Prabhupda would receive so many invitations.

To come and take Prasad at the.

House of the life members.

They said if they wanted to invite him, they had to first become a life member. So in this way, every day, just by eating, they’re making life memories. He wouldn’t accept invitation unless first they became a life member. So in that way, every day, they’re becoming live member, and he was accepting their invitation.

They’re all vegetarian, mostly Gujaratis, and Nairobi, Mombasa, Śrīla, Prabhupāda, Afrika Teh, Nairobi, Mombasa, oneg ni, montanagi, life member, Hoyjae. When you eat the food that is given, then you are accepting.

You see the karmas and reactions of the person who cooks.

Chakan J, kabdo, kahoye, Jake, ditche, tarkhasteke, kichu, karma, fall. That’s why in the vedic age, the Brahmanas would only eat. Sannyasis would only eat from Brahmanas. Sekani, poetic juge, Brahman, kache, Matri, Sunnasi, Vikha, Graham.

Of course, Chetanimaru would always take from.

Brāhmaṇa, but sometimes, on rare occasion, he’d also take from any baishnama. Noihdeh, although he was bihasta, he offered his offering to Haridas Thakur, because he was a voicemail. Adaita, gosai, slad, novido, pratam, all types.

Of brahmanas that were present, they objected.

Why you are offering to adidas thakur? He is not a born Brāhmaṇa. Brahman, Samaju, Pratam, sadh, bhog, ba prasad. So then they had a test, who is the real Brāhmaṇa? Real Brāhmaṇa means from his mouth, he should be able to ignite fire for the jagyakta, Brāhmaṇa, kayaking, asu, Brāhmaṇa, muktage, agun, sushti, ottapare, jog, gokhe, surukarajan. When they used to do the fire sacrifices, then the Brāhmaṇa could produce fire simply by mantra, simply from his mouth, fire would come. They didn’t need the matches. Say, jagga Jalavana didn’t have to stay with their match. Wet match box, trying to light the match, while everyone, the head comes off.

Because it became damp. Simply by vibration, they would do powerful vibration.

Seje, Max, box, bija max, baxo, se akbari, max agua says, correct. So then some wood was produced and placed in front of all the big brahmanas. Atukat, Brahmani, kachi, Dahulu, muktiki, Jalal, you light it with your mouth. Siege Brāhmaṇa. They tried to ignite it. Nothing happened. Patek, Ramana, Nisha, Cherila and Agoini. When it came to Harida’s thakur and he breathed saying the Lord’s holy names. Immediately that wood caught on fire. Then all the other brahmanas, they all went away ashamed. So here Naramuni differentiates. There are different kinds of brahmanas. Karmakonda, Ganakonda. Then finally Bhakto Vaishnava, Naravuni, Bhakapole, Karma, Kondo, Brāhmaṇa, Ganakundo, Seshkali, Sudhavakta, Vaishna Brahmandh. Of the three, the vai is the dear, most.

Of them.

So by feeding one Vaishnav, one is getting unlimited benefit. Active vai sevada mane a steam upakar. So devotees, they should be very careful where they eat. Bhakto binna, kotai kai nakuk, lakhakora. Their own minds can be polluted also by eating the food of unqualified people. Bhakti, Dotapare, anu, Gujuktu, Loki Mahabharat mentions how the asuras took over the bodies of Durya, Dhon, Donaharya, Bismarck and others so that they could fight against the Pandavas, Donahari, Sarieta, capture Graham Kurenilo. If they hadn’t taken over, how could the bhishma and Donacharya fight so fiercely against deepavas who were their dear students? How they entered into their bodies because they’re eating the food of Durya? Don’t worry, by eating food of materialist, one becomes materially inclined. Loki kawatara, nijay, Mohan Khalushi. So no devotees should take any unoffered food. Someone may come and say, this is a prasad.

What is that prasad? We take prasad offered by recognized Baishnava Amara J. Prasad Pai J. Upujukto bhai, dhara bhagawani, Nivedi Toholo. We take the prasad of the authorized Vishnu deities. Amara Vishnu, murthy, aso prasad, Amara Gahankari. This is a system. If we don’t follow strictly, then our consciousness can be affected naturally. So here it’s saying that for these, one shouldn’t invite too many brahmanas. Because if you try to invite too many, being very proud, then instead of being able to serve them properly, you make some mistake in serving. And in the end, instead of a good result, you get a bad result. Better than that for the sad ceremony which is so many rituals.

And then it is easy to manage.

Some basic harmony of course at time of marinated coming down hiking. It’s an I want voice. Everyone else, why don’t they see anybody?

Tell us. Whenever we go somewhere, people are always.

Very eager to give their service and respect simply because we are, you see, serving the vaishnavas and dressed like vaishnavas. Amara jagani jai manushi salah to boish nava purī, best purī. Even when I went to Udupi, they’re very kind and they’re giving us Kṛṣṇa for.

(Side B of the Cassette)

And some buttermilk and doi. And then a special Moha prasad mango achar.

They also gave me very nice treatment.

And they wouldn’t accept any donation. They said you are a devotee. We won’t accept any donation for that. Refused to accept any donation. How many devotees come to our temples? Prabhupāda said, anyone that comes, they should be fed. What to speak of Vaishnavas? Anyone comes, they should be able to be fed. One time he personally sent a letter to all the temples that you make in the morning. Some purī dough and some sabji. Keep it on the fire. If anybody comes, immediately roll up some puris and sabji and feed him. This will be our success. And everyone who comes to our temple can get prushaat Prabhakala JK amaji mandirasi paradimiti moira mahatu alu Tokari Korid J as makamo.

And especially if any sadhu or baishnav comes, should always be given Prashant. Kṛṣṇa is giving so much. We should give Prasad to his devotees. Kṛṣṇa have to teach Kṛṣṇa. Bhakti.

Says in Gītā even wants his sanyasi shouldn’t give up wiping the fire and giving donation.

So only donation we give is prasad from Kṛṣṇa.

We don’t give any material donations.

So we can take lessons from all this.

Even karma khanda, Brāhmaṇa. What is Pika may ghanaian or Vishnu bhakto. They also considered to be.

Sacred.

J Brahmone karma kondo avagato takay Oshawandi.

So when we are accepted and received everywhere all over India so nicely, then.

If some sadhu comes, we should not.

Neglect him in our temples.

We should take it as our duty to also at least see they get.

Some prasanna before they are released.

They shouldn’t have to go hungry when.

They are coming to Kṛṣṇa’s place.

Is.

To come for the darshan of the lord.

Our duty is to see the get.

Prasad tale Dai Tochi Prabhu ekachi darshan.

Kora prathana kora amada daito prabhu. Then you see that the devotees people talk about uniting devotees, uniting the different sampre diets. This is the first step. Because as the first exchange of love is to give prasadam also cannot. Now Prashad Kyoki da iti active halawasa pretty actor Sambarkostapungora Gosami Molechi.

So we should say that all these different vedic.

Rituals are not empty rituals. They’re having deep meaning.

We should take the lessons from the.

Vedas and understand their real meanings. Vaithe gay shikha ibn Asal, Arthur Siddhānta amara gahan Korawchit. So just like they were distributing books in Madras, Narutam Das, who is here in the Māyāpur, Sankirtan going shop to shop. So one mister Patel, he got the book and he started to read it. And so he came by the temple. Ajan Patel Boyden.

When he came to the temple, he.

Was very interested by the book. He participated in the Kirta Mondiri, Giye Boye, Darakumi, Jogdilin. Then Uttam Śloka, light membership preacher. He followed up the matter and pursued.

Mister Patel for rendering further service.

Life membership. So mister Patal, then he became life member. Now he’s chanting two japas.

His daughters who are also married and.

Their husbands are chanting japa. He’s brought 27 people to the temple, all from the original book that came from the book distributor. And then cultivation and cultivation after light membership. Then there was the busy Rishi cultivation.

To perform japa and other services in this way. Now the whole family is practically Kṛṣṇa conscious.

They chant hare Kṛṣṇa together before going to bed at night in some kīrtana.

So we should understand that this all.

The Lord’s mercy, we are simply giving out mercy. It is Samosa Bhagavane prasad Bhagavane kripa, amra kripa krinai. Those who have watched it, they will accept immersive. Those who are unfortunate, they won’t accept. Our duty is simply give out mercy. Who wants to let him think ja ki chai taki dao. If someone doesn’t, even is not negative against it or can be convinced in a favorable way.

All right.

By any means given, the devotee is making his good fortune. So Narabuni is simply going and giving out prasad. People, they are lost in this world. They don’t know what is purpose of life.

That they’re supposed to transcend this temporary.

Material body and reach Kṛṣṇa. They don’t know, they have forgotten. So they’re suffering. They’re eating water in the dunking stool. So if someone is so foolish to again and again take this habud, this.

Dunking stool, who else is there so.

Kind to help him except for the pure devotees, the Vaishnava preachers who are distributing Kṛṣṇa’s mercy. The a Jaraisa Durbak Goan Vekti jarisha bakarche bhaktobindu charata kripakora akiyachi. So everyone should simply pray to Guru and Gorongo to be instrument in their hands to give out the mercy. Bhagavane Śrī oste ashutupe Parinoto hoy e kripa bilikora Jane Kṛṣṇa hare Kṛṣṇa kha hare hare ram hari ram Ram hare.

Any questions? Yes.

He has to suffer for reaction of that karma. Then how I can counteract him by suffering? Then he is attacked. Then.

Prasad has to be prepared by.

Devotees, offered by devotees.

Then Kṛṣṇa will accept.

What is meaning of prasad?

Prasad means that which has already been accepted by Kṛṣṇa.

Karmī means someone who is not a devotee.

That means how Kṛṣṇa will accept an offering made by him. So that’s not Prasad, that’s bhoga.

If you eat the bhoga from the.

Karmis, that means that you are taking position of Kṛṣṇa. It becomes your prushad. So you have to take the karmas. So that’s why we’re not supposed to take volga. People can give us the grain, the raw material, we can prepare it or that can be prepared in a certain way under our direction and cooked in ghee and then we can also and that becomes prasad. We shouldn’t take the food simply offered by people unless if we at all do, because they are devotees like Prabhupāda would say, all right, you become a life member, then you become a devotee. They’re doing some service. They’re vegetarian, they’re cooking the ghee. Cooked food.

Prabhupāda also had that potency. But even then the devotees would find.

That apart from taking that prasad that Prabhupāda took when they were doing that program, that their consciousness would be adversely.

Affected after some time.

The best thing is to prepare one’s own food. If one has to take, one should take only from a devotee. So if one is in our family life member is following vegetarian system and if the food is cooked in ghee.

Then it is considered to have less.

Of these karmic reactions.

This kacha and pakka.

The kacha food means that which is just boiled like rice, this boiled vegetables and things, especially boiled rice and dal. This is kacha and puris, pakuris and fried vegetables. These things are considered pakka. So if one has to take from a non initiated person who is vegetarian and otherwise devotee, then at least one should take pakka.

Best thing is if one cooks the.

Food oneself, offers a bug to Kṛṣṇa and distributes the purushana.

That depends on a person’s fire.

You see, if there’s a big blazing fire, you can throw in it one.

Cotton ball, it will go up.

If a big fire, you can also throw in it.

One log, it will go up.

But if you have a little fire.

You put a cotton ball in it will go up.

You put the log in and it will go out, right? So depending on how big a fire one has, then he can accept certain amount of karmic reaction and it won’t make him lose his devotional service to Kṛṣṇa. But even then, one should take the humble attitude and avoid as far as possible any risks which are unnecessary for preaching. Sometimes it may be necessary, but one shouldn’t become addicted or attached to taking a nice foodstuff offered by the grihastas. When that’s not the proper prasad for preaching. One might do something to encourage someone who is otherwise qualified and needs a little encouragement. But if then one independently starts to get attached, let us simply eat the nice food offered by all the life members. Then in the long run that can have the adverse effects.

One should do everything considering what will.

Be more pleasing to Kṛṣṇa. What will be more beneficial for preaching Ka’s message? One shouldn’t.

If one does it because of the.

Taste, by any material consideration, then you can expect to take the full responsibilities. We don’t have any other method of purification than chanting hare Kṛṣṇa. Serving preaching is only very short time. Such reactions are burned up. You don’t have any other method of purification? No stronger method. Is there any other questions or points? You’re going to say something. Previously we sacrificed sometimes.

Baba said that.

When offering the food stuff to Kṛṣṇa, that has to be prepared by Brāhmaṇa or by Vaishnava. Otherwise it has to be offered only by the devotee. If you have a fifth class man cooking, why Kṛṣṇa should accept.

Brāhmaṇa means.

Someone who understands that he’s not the body theoretically, and who is vegetarian and follows, has some of the qualities of.

Ramana, like satyam, Socham, Doyamore.

It has a thread chewing tobacco. That is not one of the qualities of Abramov. So Narramuni says that one should invite to the ceremony offering oblations to the demigods. A maximum of how many brahmanas? Two brahmanas. You disqualified.

How many brahmanas are to be invited.

For a shrade ceremony?

How many?

What is the minimum? Maybe when we live in a society.

If we just live like that, we invite two or three dramas. The other government who has known to us or something, they will feel that they are neglected and they will.

The point here is that one need not try to make any special endeavor to invite many people to show up. Nowadays, people like to have big ceremony to show off to everyone how rich they are. So for that type of reason, it’s not necessary to invite many people. But if you’re having people who will be offended by not inviting, that’s another situation. So who is? Is it before one can become a devotee, what? Is it not necessary that one become very expert in.

Acquiring vast knowledge?

Yes, it’s not necessary. One has to acquire vast vedic knowledge. Then who is dear to Ka? Look up. Is it possible for someone born in a family of a dog eater to become a devotee? Who said, ask who should the offerings be given to first? Who said Vaishnava Kṛṣṇa’s devotees. And when shouldn’t the offering from the hand of a pure devotee be accepted? When shouldn’t it be accepted? Yes, never. Should never not be accepted. You have to say the question such a way that we have to think otherwise. It’s too easy, right? So when one is choosing Brahmanas, which of what two kind of brahmanas are there who are not peer devotees? And what are the difference? What’s the higher lord? What is the goal of a person who is attached to the karma Kundalini? Go to the heavenly planets and increase the material.

Heavy. And what is the goal of someone in the Gala Kundalini? Raise your hands. That was an easy one. You gotta clean one of the 64 qualities of fish. I don’t have a question at heart. A devotee who has no motive to enjoy fruitive activity or mental speculation. Who is completely a pure devotee is as worshipable as who? Who had the hand up first. And where is this quotation written?

This is a vision in the Padma Purāṇa by Lord Shiva.

Who is it that is worshipable? Who is the offering as worshipable as is worshipable as Kṛṣṇa.

No, I didn’t.

And where is it written? In the Padma Puran. That’s not the song count. Who knows the answer? The.
