Cāṅpāhāṭi: Hare Kṛṣṇa! We are here in Cāṅpāhāṭi. You have seen the pastime of Jayadeva Gosvāmī, he stayed here about a thousand years ago. In the time of Lord Caitanya, Dvija Vāṇīnātha, he stayed here. He was the brother of Gadādhara Prabhu. So, he wanted the Deities of Gaura and Gadāi. So, he made the Deities of Gaura Gadāi and then he asked Lord Caitanya that these Deities are non-different from You? He said, “Yes!” He said, “Let the Deities go and You stay!” He raised His hand and Gadādhara raised his hand and they became like the carved Deities. And the carved Deities became mobile, and they started walking away. Dvija Vāṇīnātha said, “No, no, no, you two stay, let the others go.” So they raised their hands, they became like wooden mūrtis and the other two started walking away. This happened several times and Dvija Vāṇīnātha, he got confused who were the original Deities and who were Gaura Gadādhara walking. So in this way you can see the Deities in the temple of Gaura Gadāi, Gaurāṅga and Gadādhara. These are original Deities from the time of Lord Caitanya and you can go and take darśana, give dakṣiṇā, circumambulate the Deities. Originally, these Deities were worshiped by the disciple of Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura. When he took Bābājī, he was known as Nanayānanda Bābājī. The brahmacārī who is there now, he is very friendly to ISKCON. Every year, we come here and he arranges a pandal for the devotees. Nayanānanda Bābājī has gone back to the spiritual world and now this brahmacārī is watching the temple. Hare Kṛṣṇa!
