mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-gurun dina tāriṇam
paramānanda-mādhavam śrī caitanya īśvaram

Jayapatākā Swami: (Audio Break) You all should become qualified. You all should get the Bhaktivedanta degree and study Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books and deliver the people. Śrīla Prabhupāda was saying the world is on fire! People are confused, they think they are the body. They don’t understand the real goal of life is love of God. Even Christians, Muslims, Jews, whatever, they are confused and so actually everybody can be encouraged to serve Lord Kṛṣṇa, to serve the Supreme Lord, chant His holy names! We chant the names from the Vedas like Kṛṣṇa and Rāma. Are we ready for the next video?

Jayapatākā Swami: So, now I can speak something but how many people would listen? So, by these videos I hope to reach more people and present the matters very philosophically and very reasonably. What do you think? Of course, we have limited time, I don’t know how long Kṛṣṇa will let me be in this body. So I am trying to do many things. Kṛṣṇa conscious daivi-varṇāśrama – some of our ISKCON do not give the mantra to the women and śūdras. But I am trying to establish Kṛṣṇa conscious daiva-varṇāśrama. This is on the Vaiṣṇavī dīkṣā-guru. We want everybody to be very serious in their Kṛṣṇa consciousness. I want to hammer this point again and again! We are bhakti-yogīs and yoginīs! It is not a sentimental thing! We are at war with Māyā and our ammunition is the Harināma!

Question: In the first video Guru Mahārāja, it is mentioned how Śrīla Prabhupāda said that he was thinking like 1975 some of his disciples, men and women would become gurus. That means Śrīla Prabhupāda was thinking during his lifetime, the disciples would become regular gurus?

Jayapatākā Swami: Yes. He said, if they achieved the Bhakti-vedānta degree. Actually, nobody achieved at that point. It is unfortunate. But yes, in his lifetime if they would have achieved the Bhakti-vedānta degree, then they could initiate. So he was presenting that they have to become qualified. Lord Caitanya said, qualification is kṛṣṇa-tattva vettā. Śrīla Prabhupāda put that in practical terms to get the Bhakti-vedānta degree. So it is very obtainable if one studies Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Caitanya-caritāmṛta and Bhagavad-gītā.

Question: I have a question this is a very divisive topic in ISKCON, including some gurus who feel that females should not be dīkṣā-gurus and naturally their disciples take on the mood of their guru and tend to speak strongly against others who promote this. But in other aspects they seem to be great Vaiṣṇavas. So what should our approach be – not associate with them??

Jayapatākā Swami: You know there will always be difference of opinions. But we base our conclusions on śāstra, guru and sādhu. So, we try to do the preaching in such a way, showing that people are being sentimental. First of all, a female or brāhmaṇa, there is a verse which says:

ṣaṭ-karma-nipuṇo vipro
mantra-tantra-viśāradaḥ
avaiṣṇavo gurur na syād
vaiṣṇavaḥ śva-paco guruḥ
(From Padma Purāṇa)

This is Vedic, Vedic! Even if you are born in a family of meat eaters – I am a purebred, my forefathers were all meat eaters, in my pūrvāśrama. I am very fallen. But by Śrīla Prabhupāda’s mercy I became a Vaiṣṇava! You have to be a Vaiṣṇava! You all be a Vaiṣṇava or Vaiṣṇavī and be a guru. Female dīkṣā-guru is completely bogus, the idea, they are very gentle. I would say āsuric varṇāśrama, demonic! Females, brāhmaṇas, kṣatriyas, śūdras, all these things are material designations. You have to be a Vaiṣṇava, you have to be a Vaiṣṇavī. FDG – Female Dīkṣā-guru – is completely bogus! The idea of female or male is bogus! Śrīla Prabhupāda said my spiritual boys and girls – means that they are initiated, chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa and they are not males or females. Then he also said they could get the Bhakti-vedānta degree and initiate. So, study! Get your degrees! Become spiritual masters! Śrīla Prabhupāda said we need millions. We all should fulfill Lord Caitanya’s prediction. We have like 200 gurus now, we need hundreds of thousands, like millions. Hare Kṛṣṇa!
