The following is a lecture given by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on March 16, 2003 – in Śrī Māyāpur, India. The lecture begins with a reading from Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 10.4.22.
In the bodily conception of life. One remains in darkness without self realization, thinking I am being killed or I have killed my enemies. As long as a foolish person thus considers the self to be the killer or the killer, he continues to be responsible for material obligations and consequently he suffers the reactions of happiness and distress. Report by Shrila Prabhupāda by the grace of the Lord, Kaṁsa felt sincere regret for having unnecessarily persecuted such Vaishnavas as Viveki and Bosunewa and thus he came to that transcendental stage of knowledge. Because I am situated on the platform of knowledge, Kaṁsa said, understanding that I am not at all a killer of your sons, I have no responsibility for their death. As long as I thought that I would be killed by your son, I was in ignorance.
Now that I am free from this ignorance which was due to a bodily but now I am free from this ignorance which was due to a bodily concept of life as stated in Bhagavad Gītā 1817. One who is not motivated by false ego whose intelligence is not entangled though he kills men in this world, is not the slayer, nor is he bound by his actions. According to this axiomatic truth, Kaṁsa pleaded that he was not responsible for having killed the sons of Devakī and Vasudeva. Please try to excuse me for such false external activities, he said, and be pacified with this same knowledge. Text 23 very short purport. Kam Sabeg My dear sister and brother in law, please be merciful to such a poor hearted person as me since both of you are saintly persons, please excuse my atrocities.
Having said this, Hamsa fell at the feet of Vasudeva Deva Ki, his eyes full of tears of regret. Although Kams had spoken very nicely on the subject of real knowledge, his past deeds were abominable and atrocious and therefore he further begged forgiveness from his sister and brother in law by falling at their feet and admitting that he was a most sinful person. Fully believing in the words of God. As Durga comes to exhibit his familial affection from Devon Ki and Vasudev by immediately releasing them from their iron shackles. Translation Purport to The Śrīmad Bhāgavatam 10th Canto 4th Chapter, verses 22, 23 and 24 Prabhupāda in verse 22 refer to Bhagavad Gītā 1817. Translation One who is not motivated by false ego, whose intelligence is not entangled, though he kills men in this world, does not kill, nor is he bound by his actions.
In this verse the Lord informs Arjuna that the desire not to fight arises from false ego. Arjuna thought himself to be the doer of action, but he did not consider the supreme sanction within and without. If one does not know that a super sanction is there, why should he act? For one who knows the instruments of work, himself as the worker and the Supreme Lord as the supreme sanctioner is perfect in doing everything, such a person is never an illusion. Personal activity and responsibility arise from false ego and godlessness or lack of Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Anyone who is acting in Kṛṣṇa consciousness under the direction of the super soul or the supreme personality of Godhead, even though killing does not kill, nor is he ever affected by the reaction of such killings.
When a soldier kills under the command of his superior officer, he is not subject to be judged. But if a soldier kills on his own personal account, then he is certainly judged by a court of law. Chapter 18, verse 17. These verses are quite amazing. After Durga appeared. And told Kaṁsa that Kṛṣṇa was already born somewhere else, then. Kaṁsa whole viewpoint on things changed. He started feeling really bad. I killed all these children. I locked up my brother in law and my sister in the prison, all thinking that their son was gonna kill me. No, it turns out it’s not their son that’s gonna kill me. Some son who was born somewhere else. So then he suddenly got afraid of all the karma unnecessarily he had accumulated all the offenses he committed.
So he’s saying some very philosophically accurate things about the false ego, About performing activities. This attitude of. Thinking we are the doer, reacting to how people deal with us in a very personal, emotional way. This is a very hard thing to give up. Somebody insults us, may be very hard to be sending a line, not the body. It’s not relating to me. Even in Caitanya Charitable it says when a stranger calls you some name or something, doesn’t have much effect. But if it’s a near and dear one and they start to criticize you and chastise you, then it goes to the heart, it pains the heart. It’s very difficult to give up this identification. But the samely people like Vasudeva Kif, they’re so amazing here they were put under so much difficulty, locked in the prison, right back in front of them.
Their children were massacred and although it was obviously traumatic, but they didn’t most people probably be in a really depressed depression state? We’re locked in this prison. Our children are all being killed. They get really depressed and in the moment. But Master Dave and David G hoping for the arrival of Kṛṣṇa they remained on a quite. A platform of equilibrium. It’s amazing because you have these two opposites. You have Vasudeva and Devakī who maintain their balance. And you have Kaṁsa who is a huge powerful warrior, big king, emperor. But he gets because of. His false ego and his bodily identification, he keeps flipping and flapping. I am reminded I sometimes hear statements when devotees knowingly do something which they shouldn’t do. Then you say Prabhu, why are you doing that? I am not up here, devotee. That answers everything. I am not up here, devotees.
What do you expect? Does it make it right? We’re supposed to want to be pure devotee. It’s not that. At least we try. Even Kaṁsa, who was that? A class whatever demon. He felt bad after doing some horrible things.
What?
He realized it was all to his present point of view. It was useless. He felt so bad he was crying. He fell at the feet of Usher named Please forgive me for my sins and atrocities. Sincerely he was feeling bad. I mean quite amazing. But at least. I mean at least at this moment he’s having these sentiments. Of course Boss Reve knows that comes second switch. He’s got the worst association in the world. All associates were demons. There’s another factor. Even if Kaṁsa sometimes he came up with some reasonable ideas. All his associates having him out. What are you trying to do? Right? He gave back the first baby. The boss of David Naomiki. And they said, you know, listen, how do you know for sure? Don’t take any chances. The next thing he did is he took the baby back and killed.
And he killed him anyway. So this is the problem with Kaṁsa that for his own personal material situation he can do anything. And because he’s surrounded with bad association, he gets continuously pulled into that predicament. Now in the association of Deva gave us today, he’s experiencing some kind of change of heart. Now we should also sincerely feel bad for all the things that we have done wrong in our life. We should be repentant like Kaṁsa. We should beg forgiveness. We should also try not to repeat the same things. That’s the kind of thing lacking in himself. He wants to feel good with himself. So now he’s repentant. Next minute when it goes against his personal interest, he may have a Whole different point of view. He’s not a reliable person in that regard emotionally. But we want to try to be pure devotees.
We want to try to be reliable. And the Kṛṣṇa sees that we’re very sincere in trying our level best to follow. We’re trying to avoid a bad association which will pull us away from devotional service and try to take the Buddha’s host niche. All these things are an important factor. The other thing is because Kaṁsa’s attitude is based on essential. So now suddenly initially the danger was I am going to get killed. Now the danger, wow, I just arrested these two saintly people. I murdered six of their children. What’s going to be my karma? What’s this going to do for my sense gratification? I am going to be in big trouble. The immediate problem was more concerned than before. Now the future problem, my sense gratification could be subject to some very critical obstacles because of what I just did. So now he is worrying.
But the whole platform is always sense gratification. How he gets go on enjoying sense gratification on this platform of his false ego. So as a devotee, we change our consciousness from one of desiring sense gratification to one of desiring service. We want to serve Kṛṣṇa. We want Kṛṣṇa to be pleased. That’s the total. It may look similar. Many things you may do for the pleasure of Kṛṣṇa, but that’s the standard. Sometimes what you do for Kṛṣṇa may be pleasing to you. Just like were discussing in our Brikra Mahabhakti Siddhānta Saraswati Thakur. He was utilizing motor cars and technology at a time when he was like one of the first people to use this. He had big opulence of people criticizing him. Why using all these material things? This is Bishoia, the sense gratification.
Then there’s a famous verse from the Vaishnava cave that states, or maybe somewhere else. Anything you can use from Kṛṣṇa’s service, You shouldn’t. If something can be used in Kṛṣṇa’s service just because it happens to be a sense that appears to be sensual, appears to be material, we shouldn’t reject him. Because to be used for Kṛṣṇa service because being very superficial. So we utilize everything in Kṛṣṇa’s service. Prabhupāda here in Māyāpur. One time he was giving a lecture and he said just that time there was only the Māyāpur residence. At that time we had this lotus building over here, the long building for Māyāpur. This looked like a palace. Sometimes people said that, well, people join the Māyāpur because It’s very opulent for the locals. He said that.
Well, if you think, if you do the service here because you want to please Rana Raul, then as a result of all your service, you get love of Kṛṣṇa. But if you serving because you like the nice residential facilities, you like the nice posadam, you’re just doing everything because of the material benefits, then that’s your result. You have a nice material benefit you all get after coming. So sometimes in our devotional service, we have to accept things we don’t like to do. But it was needed for Kṛṣṇa, we accept it. Sometimes we have to do something for Kṛṣṇa which is pleasing to the senses. But we don’t reject it just because it’s pleasing to the senses. Not like artificially, we have to put ourselves in suffering.
So from our conditional state of outlook on sense or anything, it seems really easy to do things which you like to do. Like feasting is easy, but fasting is difficult from that point of view. But this is how we train our senses, train our mind. Sometimes at work. Whenever we have your fasting all day, the evening, and the next day we will be feasting. The problem said, for the Vaishana, fasting, feasting, it’s all the same. We have to feast for Kṛṣṇa, you have to fast to Kṛṣṇa. So one of the important things is that, I mean, how we develop in our personal relationship with Kṛṣṇa is the guru, you know, you have Kaṁsa here. I mean, who can rely on a person like, one minute he’s falling on your feet crying, you know, begging forgiveness. Next minute he’s killing your kids.
Would you like to depend on someone like that? So how. Look at from Kṛṣṇa’s point of view, we’re asking him, believe in me. I am trying. I want to be your devotee. The next thing we go out and do some horrible, abominable thing. Where’s this person? Where’s our character? Where’s our honesty? Where’s our sincerity? At least we tried, we struggled, we tried, okay, were weak, we fell something. This should be a little from our side, some kind of show of sincerity. After we make forgiveness and read a chapter of Bhagavad Gītā or something, we make an attempt to become stronger gradually. Overprintess. Maybe it’s a gradual process. We’re going to make many slips and falls, but we really show that Kṛṣṇa, I try and weep, but I want to do pure devotion. So I want to be your pure devotee.
I want to do everything right. But even if it’s a struggle for me, and even if I am not capable to do it properly. But I am hoping upon hope for your Kripa. As we heard about the Kripa Shakti from His Holiness Satchinanda Maharaj. We beg for the Kripa. But we also show that we’re trying. And death is what develops our personal relationship with Guru and Kṛṣṇa that we actually try. We’re making the effort. We’re taking the one step forward. And Kṛṣṇa will take the ten steps to us. Here Kaṁsa takes a step forward and then 10 back. There’s no consistency. That’s the difference between a devotee like Vasudev and Devakī and someone like Kaṁsa. We have like Śrīvas. In our Shivas Angan Parikramā it was mentioned how I forget who mentioned.
But it was the pastime where Shivas was inside his garden and all the devotees. And then actually in the house of Shivas there was a big commotion. And Shivas went in the house to find out what happened. Then his wife and all the ladies were crying. They said what’s wrong?
He’s dead.
He’s dead. He’s dead. All crying and wailing. So if he’s dead and there’s nothing we can do about him. Stop crying and disturbing the kirk. Our Lord should tell me. And if we’re sick, okay, we can do something. But he’s already dead. When we do, it’s already vets. You can’t do anything. Plus you’re disturbing the truth. But they couldn’t stop crying. Just lost their son. They were very traumatized. Then he told. Listen, if you don’t stop crying, I did it take my life. You have to cry for your dead husband too. So then Malini, Al Qaeda, really heavy cloud. And he went back in. He was dancing Kirktown. After the Kirktan was over, Lord Chaitanya said. What was the commotion in the house? Well, nothing. No, no. Tell me what happened? There was a big noise. It went in there. Something happened.
Oh, my son died. Your son died? Gopal died. Why? Gopal was such a nice boy. How could he leave his parents like this? You bring him here. Bring his body here. And carried out the dead body lying down in front of Lorch. Gopal, get up. Stand up. Come back. Gopal. Stand up. Why have you left your parents? Why have you left? Then Gopal now he just left. The body was heading back to Gilead. He was seeing things from the transcendental point of view. From the higher plane. He said, I am taking millions of births. Every burst I have mother and father Every mother and father I left. Which mother father are you referring to? Parents are like amazing. It’s not a little childish, Gopali speaking from another level. And then no. Shiva said Malini. Oh, they are wonderful devotees, wonderful parents.
They taught me about serving you. Why did you leave them, Lord? Why did you ask me? Why did I leave them? My coming or my going is not my decision. It was your will. I had to leave. I am going back to the spiritual world. You have brought me back here. Why do you ask me this question? So like this, the discussion was going on and like Chitra Ketu’s dead son brought back to life in the Bhāgavatam. That type of exchange. So then once the mother Malini knew that her son was going back to guard him, She was so transcendental that she could see, well, it’s a better interest than my son if he’s back in Godhead. So then she agreed. Okay, now he can go. That’s interesting because it’s in the eleven the glories of the eleventh chapter by Wadida.
In the end, this one son of a Brāhmaṇa got liberated by hearing the 11 Shabbat getting bathed with the water. 11 Chapter by Wagida when he was eaten by a Rakshasa. It’s another long story for a time. But the Rakshasa and the son who was being digested in the Delhi of the Rakshasa both got liberated. Both were liberated and had a spiritual body. And the Mishta Duras came to take them back to the spiritual world. But the father said, son, come home. Your mother is waiting for you. How can I go home? Look at father. I am liberated. I got Satchita. I am under the roof. You know, I am liberated. I wait back to val him. No, but you can do that later. Now you come home, your mother’s waiting. Your pet dog, your cat, your little brother and sister, they’re all waiting for you.
But then if I go back, maybe I will fall into Māyā again. Now look. And I am liberated. You don’t know how wonderful it is. No, but we will miss you. Come home. Listen, I am going home, dad. I am going home, back to Ghana. And look it, see, this gentleman is Brahman. I chants the 11th chapter Bible Gītā. You chant it, learn it from him. And then you will be coming back too. And I will be waiting for you. Bye. He got in the spiritual airplane and back to God. We had this one Brāhmaṇa. He’s wearing you Know your dog, your cat’s got a. I don’t want to live without my son. We have Malini and Shivas. She’s so attached, as if to her son, she’s crying. She’s just a woman who loves her child. But when she could realize my son is actually being a liberated person.
He died during the kīrtana of Lord Chaitanya. Is going right back to Golok. Okay. She could detach herself. It’s better for her son and a for Kṛṣṇa. So having that kind of spiritual outlook controlling our tendency is always going to be to look at things from the sense gratification perspective. But by chanting over a period of time, we will start to see things from the devotional perspective. Eventually, when we have spiritual vi. Everything is from that perspective. What’s in the Kṛṣṇa? We have to mind comes up with something. Hey, that’s not the right thing. Mind, that’s sense gratification. Change it. Even sometimes we’re doing something which is for Christian mindset. Well, you like doing it. So it’s sense gratitude. Don’t do it right. Meaning it all like gets complicated. Oh, but my guru said I should do it.
But devoting that I am supposed to do that. Whether or not that’s not the issue. So we have to. The mind is not the best guide for this. We have to have our spiritual intelligence. This is the problem comes up. What spiritual intelligence does he have? His intelligence, all his demon friends. Even right now, somehow, by the blessing of Kṛṣṇa for a moment, he actually has the right perspective. Because he doesn’t have any sadhana, he doesn’t have any good association. He doesn’t do any devotional service. Therefore, it’s just like a little passing moment of inspiration. That’s why we need to chant Hare Kṛṣṇa. We need to keep ourselves pure of how we need to be focused on doing everything for Kṛṣṇa. And that is helped by developing in our personal relationships. We have deities like everyone can dedicate themselves to a deity.
Just like Madame Napuri. We observed his day yesterday. He was serving his Gopal deity. Whether he was in Ramuna, whether he was in Jagannpuri, his focus was Gopal. Only when Gopal told them that you can worship go be not. And he’s not different from me. I will accept him. Okay. Then it transferred also to Gopīna. So that’s one way. So we have our Ishta Devat and we have our worshipable Lord that we serve. Or we’re serving through our spiritual master. Obviously this is different ways how we guide ourselves. What Intelligent, we don’t know what to do. What matter do we take some guidance, good guidance. And devotee Vasudev. They know Kṛṣṇa is safe and quite happy to be freed from the prison house after so many years. So they’re feeling real relief at the words of Kaṁsa.
Although Vasudevi is a very wise person, he knows can’t trust him. But anyway, I mean the way they just took things as they came. They just were so tolerant and so determined to serve Kṛṣṇa in spite of so many difficulties. We could get just a drop of the kind of tolerance and determination of us today with the empathy. No matter what happens, we’re committed to serving the mission of Guru Al Nuranga carrying out all God’s interests not to be motivated by all these material considerations. That second, we have to live by our principles. First priority, what’s needed for our Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Of course we have to take care of our bodies and take all these things but not at the expense of our Kṛṣṇa consciousness. So we do things in such a way that it’s anukulyena Kṛṣṇa silana.
It’s favorable to Kṛṣṇa consciousness and it’s following the instructions of Kṛṣṇa. So. Pray for the blessing of us today. We pray that we don’t be like a Kaṁsa. That sometimes we have our moments of wisdom and then we just fall into some. We just forget our principles, forget our character, what we’re supposed to do and just act like a demon. We don’t want to do that. The modern psychologist, I mean Elizabeth, even as a demon, he felt bad afterwards. The modern said never feel bad for anything. That’s like the modern thing, just always you shouldn’t feel guilty. You come to feel guilty when you realize and this is purified. They feel guilty, they feel repentant. It’s not bad when it comes to dream. It’s good for him. What we want to do is feel repentant, beg forgiveness.
But be consistent and then not make the same mistakes again. Try our best, act very personal with Kṛṣṇa. Open our heart. This is what I did wrong, this is my mistake. And please help me that I never do it again. Forgive me and help me. Like Siddhan says, like illuminating the heart, the thieves like to hide in dark places. If you light up your heart, you light up all the dark places. Then there’s no place for the thieves to hide. If we’re really straightforward with Kṛṣṇa, we’re really honest with Guru and Kṛṣṇa. And when you sincerely try to take the remedial measures so that we get stronger and stronger then it’s much harder for these criminals to hide in our mind and consciousness and attack us in the dark places. One or two questions.
Many times I think we have experienced that somebody, hopefully not ourselves, takes up this attitude that we’re hearing of Kaṁsa and shows some sincerity and begs forgiveness for some offense. And we may feel nice, but then, like Kaṁsa is unreliable and at the first opportunity goes and does something even more abominable than they ask forgiveness. Now, we may feel at that time that I wish they didn’t, you know, win my heart.
I wish they didn’t show that because.
It was like hypocrisy.
You may think it would better.
That they didn’t play that game.
Even though at the moment they may.
Have got themselves psyched up a little bit and felt some type of repentance. So in these verses, Gangsa is being.
Praised a little bit or sympathized with.
Because he has some kind of sincere repentance. But practically speaking, sometimes it hurts the heart even more when somebody comes to us so sincerely and the next moment they do something terrible Again. I was wondering if you could comment.
Is it better that they. Is it better that they didn’t show.
That kind of humility?
In that case. Comes as being praised. Even a moment of truth is better than no truth at all. The thing is that you can see how, like you said, you get hurt more when they win you over. I don’t think Basudev from here we don’t find any symptoms that he’s won over. He’s happy to see the repentance of Kaṁsa, happy to be freed. He’s more happy to know that his son is saved in underground. But you think, how many people think here, that he’s completely confident and now comes to a total change of heart. I don’t think he set himself up for that kind of. That kind of being hurt that you’re talking about. The difference is like in the previous ages, people had more like demons and devotees.
So you knew you couldn’t depend on a demon and you could more or less depend on a devotee. But in Kali Yuga, we all have certain percentage of divmania and devotee qualities. And what we’re trying to do. Therefore, as Salima, the rules are a little different. If you have somebody in that humble state, if they’re in that humble mood, it could be an opportunity. That’s a prabhu. This is what you need to do to people. Prevent yourself from ever doing such a thing again. Your feelings, you know, are Nice. They’re appropriate, they’re correct. Actually what’s needed is you get out of this bad association. You have to do this out of the. But you have to do whatever it is that they need. Maybe if a person really takes up the remedial measures then you won’t have this repetition.
So because the people are not so committed demons in Kali Yuga, maybe a few, but usually they’re not. Especially someone like Roy did something wrong. It may be a way of trying to encourage them or help them to take the necessary steps to avoid making the same thing again. Jaga Madhai were horrible. But once they felt repentant, then they didn’t do the same mistakes. They stuck by their principles. Revivals of the Flesh is trying to get people out from the flesh sense, gratification point of view to a service attitude. If they’re still in that sense, gratification, perspective, then maybe they can do the same thing. How many people they have a change of heart, they have a change of vision.
So when they’re in that receptive mood, there’s an opportunity for someone to preach to them, to try to get them to make the necessary changes. So that is good that they feel that. Because if they didn’t feel that, then where’s the question of preaching to someone who wasn’t even repentant? He wasn’t even feeling bad after doing something about. The point is Millie, Buster, Dave, I don’t know who had the he preaches to Kabba Satan. But it would be pretty hopeless with him because of his hope seeing over there. But Kali Yuga is not so hopeless. What Chaitanya’s mercy is unlimited. And the people in that moment of repentance that they really somehow got the mercy of Lord Chaitanya and they made a stronger commitment to do things which would avoid them repeating, I know devotee, I have a disciple who was serving.
And then he got an inheritance, South America, maybe $30,000. But for him it was like a lot of money. But he thought, you know, I was joined the temple because life was very hard and difficult. I was unhappy. Now I got money and I can be happy. So he left the temple and he enjoyed as much as he could with his fortune. For him it was a fortune. So it didn’t take too long to blow 30,000 bucks. And then after a year or so he came back and he was unhappy again. Right? And everybody looked at him. He was asking him, he will live in South America. He could live his whole life in a nice Vihasta, nice kind of environment without having any difficulties standing his blue horrible things. And he did this a couple times.
But eventually seemed to start to get some realizations. And somehow he’s chanting watch your time. He’s so merciful. When once Prabhupāda said that he will forgive you once, twice, three times, four. It’s not a specific number how many times he will forgive you. But at some point in time Kṛṣṇa may say enough is enough. We don’t want to reach that point. We want to keep trying to making the effort. You should be a little afraid that there is that limit. How many what that limit is depends on Kṛṣṇa. Depends on how we try. So that little bit of fear that one day we could reach the limit. We can just Kṛṣṇa say this person doesn’t want really dig it out and we will lose that shelter. So we can take these opportunities to preach to people.
To have that fear, a little bit of Māyā in their heart and have some hope and mercy of what you can. That’s my realization. Last question. Yes, He realizes that his music. But nowadays you can see so many terrorists. They attack the innocent people and kill them. How they get deliverance and how they can realize their mistake and ask forgiveness. The suicide bombers they don’t get too much chance. Anybody can have a change of heart for the association. We have our prison ministry, part of the congregational preaching, Congregational Development Ministry. We have taken as a department and prison ministry that one of our congregation those prisoners captive audiences literally. And we have some devotees who go and they preach to the prisoners. And one of our preachers that does this said that actually there was a person who was convicted in the present. And he.
He confided in this devoted. He’s killed many people as an assassin. Now he’s chanting 16 rounds and reading the books. There may be hope for even such a murder killing. You tell me Chagrimade or murderers also they got delivered. So it’s possible that they need a good association. They need special mercy of what she telling you. A few factors are there, right? Things happen. They think it would happen to them. But without them these people are in a totally different frame of mind. They make a vision some hatreds and wrong concepts about religion. So until they have a good association and proper orientation, it’s going to be difficult. But if they get it, maybe one of our prison ministry preaching will be the terrorist. When our devotees in 1977 were life in the Kṛṣṇa G Jail There were terrorists in the jail.
I just remembered right now. And they were high security. They were only allowed out for like 15 minutes a day, otherwise they were chained up. But the other prisoners would go out for more hours in the courtyard in the middle of Rāma. So the devotees were there for like 17 days in the jail. And then they were getting Prasad sent him. And they’re giving to all the jailers and the prisoners. So they became very popular because, you know, Prasad is so nice. So one day the devotees are walking by this cell where the terrorists were and normally they would shout out slogans, you know, red salute, big by the gun and all this, you know. But this time when the boys went by, they said, Hare Kṛṣṇa, salaam. You’re not going to give us any Prasad too.
If you like to try to change the heart of terrorists, we have this prison ministry. We can be a special. Okay, thank you very much. We’re going on many programs today. Wants to make announcement. See you on the march to the Ganges. From the Ganges. For this morning. The meeting of disciples Śrīla Prabhupāda announced this morning is meant for those who served in Germany in 70s. It will be held at 5pm in room 505 of the Garda building. Apologies for any misunderstanding in the morning announcement.
