The following is a lecture on Darśana given by His Holiness Jayapatākā Swami Mahārāja on March 27, 1992 – in Thiruvananthapuram, India.

So to all the assembled devotees and respected gentlemen and gentle ladies of Tiruvananthapuram. The International Society for Kṛṣṇa Consciousness which is presently in its 25th anniversary is completing various pilgrimages around India.

There are a group of devotees who.

Have come from various countries of the world who are visiting the holy places here in South India. Especially those places visited by Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu. Day before yesterday they visited the Guru Vayur temple and other temples in Trichur. Yesterday they visited Charardan temple in Varakal. Varkalam, Varkalam. And this morning they visited Adikeshava temple. This evening, the Padmanawa temple. The devotees here from previous communist countries of the Soviet Union and Eastern bloc, From the Western ECC countries of England and Italy and Germany. And all these countries there are representatives.

England, Germany,.

From north america and south america. Like they’re from various parts of the world. From Japan and Malaysia and Singapore.

Japan, Malaysia, Singapore.

So this movement is a worldwide movement.

Because Chaitanya Mah Prabhu predicted that the process of chanting the Hare Kṛṣṇa Mahā.

Mantra would spread to every town and village of the entire.

He said that this will become the world.

Wide practice of the human race. This is a postgraduate study for all religions. We have people that were born in Jewish, Christian and Islamic families.

Jewish.

But the teachings of Bhagavad Gītā and.

Śrīmad Bhāgavatam are like a postgraduate study. Like the different religions are like high school.

And Bhagavad Gītā is like college.

And the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam is like university. In this way people from all various backgrounds, they are now taking shelter of Kṛṣṇa Consciousness. Sanātana Dharma is an eternal religious principle.

It has no beginning and no end.

So in this way everyone is eligible to participate. Because originally we are all part of Sanātana Dharma. So now there are Kṛṣṇa temples all over the world. Sitaram, Rādhākṛṣṇa, Jagannath, Narasiṁhadev, other Vishnu deities are being worshipped in all the various countries of the world. So this was predicted by Lord Caitanya Mah Prabrabhu.

And it was brought to the West.

25 Years ago by our founder, His Divine Grace, A.C. bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupda. Prabhupāda went to America 1965 by ship.

He’s an Indian and he brought the Indian.

Ancient religious principles to the West. And he left India. His last port of call was here in Kerala. He entered on the ship from Cochin. So he left India from Kerala. So now this should also be the special place where this Kṛṣṇa consciousness is practiced by everyone.

Because here the people are known to.

Be very intelligent, very intellectual, very well educated. Also people here, they are very pious, very religious.

They look very handsome and beautiful.

Very ancient traditions. Still today is Kali Yuga.

And in Kali Yuga, even when everything is good, still there’s misunderstanding, there’s quarreling,.

There’s hatred, there’s envy and division.

Love of Mogam Mohammed.

In order to counteract the influence of.

Kali, there is a special process.

This is given in Kali Santarana, Upanishad, Kṛṣṇa, hari hari. These 16 names. Of the Haregishta Mahamantra, Kali, Kalma, Ash and Ashanam. They destroy all the negative influences of Kali Yuga. This is confirmed by all the Vedas. There is no other Upaya, no other alternative which is as effective in this day and age. So Lord Caitanya requested us to approach.

All the pious people of the world.

And request them to take up this chanting of Hare Kṛṣṇa Mahamantra very seriously. This process is easy, but it’s also very sublime, very powerful, most powerful. This is not a new process. In the Sati Yuga, Ajmil chanted the name Nārāyaṇam and he was delivered from the Yamadutas. In Treyta Yuga, Hanuman chanted the name of Ram and was able to perform great feats. In Darpa Yuga. When Draupadi was being assaulted in the Raj Sabha of the Kurus by Dusasana who wanted to strip her naked.

Sabain vaja.

At that time she called on the name Keshava Kṛṣṇa. And by calling on the name of the Lord, he immediately came there and gave unlimited saree. In all the Yugas, all the Dharmas are present. Dhyana, Yagyam, Archanam Namam. All the four principles, Fire, sacrifice, Meditation,.

Temple worship and holy name.

You will see them in the Shastra and all the Yugas.

Jnanam.

But in this age, the only one which is effective, which is especially recommended as the basis of all Yajnas is.

To chant the holy name of Kṛṣṇa.

So this is working all over the world. Even those people are born outside of Vedic culture. So this will be very effective for all of you who are in this very pious place of Kerala. Just like now, there’s no Darshana. Padmanabhaji. Darshan is closed. Tomorrow again. You will get Darshan in the morning. But there is no limit. When you can chant the holy name.

Of Kṛṣṇa.

Kṛṣṇa.

All morning, all night, anytime, any place, you can chant the holy name. No matter what your caste, no matter what your economic situation. Young, old, it.
