Jayapatākā Swami: One day, my Lord He went playing on the shore of the Alakānadā river in the dense forest.

Prema-vivarta 2.32
ami āra gadādhara āchilām saṅge
bakulera gāche suka pakṣī dhare raṅge

Jayapatākā Swami: Gadādhara and myself (Jagadānanda) were accompanying the Lord. In a Bakula tree, a colorful parrot was watching us enjoying our movements.

Prema-vivarta 2.33
śuke dhari’ bale, “tui vyāsera nandana
rādhā-kṛṣṇa bali’ kara ānanda vardhana

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord Caitanya He held the parrot and He said: “You are the son of Vyāsadeva, you are Śukadeva, chant the holy names of Rādhā Kṛṣṇa and give us spiritual bliss!”

Prema-vivarta 2.34
śuka tāhā nāhi bale, bale, “gaurahari”
prabhu tare dūre phele kopa chhala kari’

Jayapatākā Swami: But Instead, the parrot chanted: “Gaurahari, Gaurahari!” Nimāi feigning, showing as if He is angry, He threw the parrot to one side.

Prema-vivarta 2.35
tabu śuka “gaura gaura” baliyā nāchaya
śukera kīrtane haya premera udaya

Jayapatākā Swami: Although the parrot was thrown to one side, he continued to chant: “Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura!” By hearing the parrot’s song, pure love was rising in the heart.

Prema-vivarta 2.36
prabhu bale, “ore śuke e ye vṛndāvana
rādhā-kṛṣṇa bala hethā śunuka sarva-jana

Jayapatākā Swami: Nimāi Prabhu, He addressed the parrot: “Listen, parrot, this Navadvīpa is non-different from Vṛndāvana. Chant the names of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa, let everybody hear!”

Prema-vivarta 2.37
śuke bale, “vṛndāvana navadvīpa ha-ila
rādhā-kṛṣṇa gaurahari-rūpe dekhā dila

Jayapatākā Swami: The parrot replied that “Navadvīpa has become Vṛndāvana. Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa have shown Themselves as combined form of Gaurahari.”

Prema-vivarta 2.38
āmi śuka ei vane gaura-nāma gāi
tumi mora kṛṣṇa, rādhā ei ye gadāi

Jayapatākā Swami: I am parrot, I chant in this forest, the holy name of (Gaurāṅga) Gaura. You are my dear Kṛṣṇa, and Rādhārāṇī has become Gadādhara.

Prema-vivarta 2.39
gadāi-gaurāṅga mora prāṇera īśvara
āna kichu mukhe nā āise ataḥpara

Jayapatākā Swami: Gadāi and Gaurāṅga are the Lords of my heart. Nothing else comes from my mouth even after I have heard so much. I can only chant Gadāi and Gaura.

Prema-vivarta 2.40
prabhu bale, “āmi rādhā-kṛṣṇa-upāsaka
anya nāma śunile āmāra haya śoka

Jayapatākā Swami: Lord said, “I am the worshiper of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa. If I hear any other name, I feel suffering.”

Prema-vivarta 2.41
eta bali’ gadāiyera hātaṭī dhariyā
māyāpure phire āila śukere chhāḍiyā

Jayapatākā Swami: Then Gaurahari, he grabbed the hand of Gadādhara and left the parrot and went back to Māyāpur.

Prema-vivarta 2.42
śuke bale, “gāo tumi yāhā lāge bhāla
āmāra bhajana āmi kari chira-kāla

Jayapatākā Swami: You chant whatever you like best. I do my bhajana since time immemorial. I chant, “Gaura, Gaura! Gaura Gaura! Gaura Gaura!”

Prema-vivarta 2.43
madhura chaitanya-līlā jāge yāra mane
mora daṇḍavat bhāi tāhāra charaṇe

Jayapatākā Swami: Jagadānanda Paṇḍita says that: “Whoever, these sweet pastimes of Gaurāṅga, rises in their heart, I consider Him as my brother, and I offer my obeisances to His lotus feet.

P.S. In English they would say the other thing first don’t say, “I went to the fair accompanied by Śyāma Rasika, Deva Gaurāṅga and Jaya Rādhā Kṛṣṇa”. They say, “Syāma Rasika, Deva Gaurāṅga and Jaya Rādhā Kṛṣṇa and myself went to the fair”. There is a literal translation or there is the translation which is natural English. Similarly, Navadvīpa turning Vṛndāvana or Vṛndāvana turning to Navadvīpa, that will be there.
